Scored 92. Oregon State has not scored 92 in more than two years. And that was in overtime.
Oregon State last scored more than 91 back in 2018 against Missouri State, 101-77.

Happy for the win. That last five minutes was freakin’ brutal though. Took for-eh-ver. Dayem. Welcome to college basketball. Ends of any game even relatively close drag on for an eternity. That and the reviews. My goodness the reviews.... I swear that every questionable play late in the game at least one Utah player was spinning their finger asking for a review.

Oh whew. I was worried we wouldn’t have the patented signature suck streak. 13-2 in the last 3 and half minutes. You do realize that every team, every game has scoring droughts. I’m not a Tinkle fan, and even I find this popping on to game thread only to note bad stretches as kind of silly. I mean where was your post about the Beavers going on 19-2 run over a 5:20 stretch in first half. Basketball is always a series of runs. Key is to limit theirs and maximize yours. Obviously Beavers haven’t been able to do that with any regularity last few seasons. For that and other reasons, I think WT should be gone as soon as possible. But to seemingly watch games only for the purpose of waiting for an offensive drought so you can jump on forum to make note of it seems like a strange way to watch a game for a fan of the school/program. But that’s just me.

Nice win. I’m happy for the squad.
Was it just me or did we see more of Rochelin than normal?

I just find it a bit strange that in every (most) game thread he seemingly has a post on a Beavers’ drought like he’s waiting for his chance. No biggy, probably just me.

Nice win. I’m happy for the squad. Was it just me or did we see more of Rochelin than normal? I think about normal, maybe even under his season average. He just had a few positive moments that maybe it felt that way. Hit a nice 3 and think he had a couple free throws. And I don’t remember him piling up any fouls. Lake was the guy I thought got a lot more time than usual. Had to be at least 20 minutes and don’t think he’s done that for a couple of weeks at least.

OSU's last 16 points all came from the FT line. OSU's last basket was at the 4:21 mark and they only took 3 FG's rest of the game. Utah was stupid. Would have been better off playing straight-up D the last three minutes instead of sending us to the FT line, where we have about a 75-80% chance of scoring vs. about 40% off our set offense. And of course they made a ridiculous shot every time a miss would have probably called off the dogs. Pope should have slammed it home or taken a 3 in the last seven seconds, instead of just dribbling it out, he had an uncontested layup. Normally I don't advocate that, but if they are still going to foul 10 points down with 15 seconds to go they deserved that. So long Utes.

Congrats on the win Beavs. With that we are two games out of 11th place.

They started fouling at 2:42 mark and they were down by 11. Play it straight up and without a TO and with Oregon State milking the clock, Utah would get probably 5 possessions (believe they got 11 with fouling). Beavers shot 50% for game though ptobably more like the 40% you mention in second half. But no guarantee you don’t foul them with 6 on shot clock each time and waste all that time. As boring as it is to watch, try and get a steal in backcourt and if don’t then foul is the right move. Hope they miss some free throws and trade 3 pts for 2 if they don’t. I do think though that they went to fouling right away without really attempting to get steals too quickly. But Beavers just hit their FTs for the most part.

Congrats on the win Beavs. With that we are two games out of 11th place. A lot of parity at the bottom of the conference, which is unusual. Last year, the Beavs would have been in 11th place. The year before, the Beavs would have been tied for 10th. The year before that, the Beavs would have been in 10th by themselves. Weird year.

Rochelin averages about 11 mpg, so his seven was below his season average. But had his best night from beyond the arc, since the game in Salt Lake City. Six points in that game, which is a Pac-12 high. His five tied the Washington game in Seattle and game against Stanford for second in Pac-12 play. But yeah, zero fouls. Zero turnovers, as well. He had a game like that against Arizona State in Tempe but no threes. He also had zero fouls and turnovers against Troy but no threes. A lot of good in Rochelin's play last night and little bad, which is great to see. Lake played 24 minutes, which is the most for Lake since the rout in Boulder. Lake's 24 minutes are his most on the season in a meaningful game other the Cal Poly game more than three months ago. The refs did not call a bunch of ticky-tack garbage. Reminds me of the Civil War game at Gill, except that the Beavs shot better and rebounded better. TS% of .671, which is the best since the Arizona game. TRB% of 55.6%, which has only been bested three times in Pac-12 play and those were all wins. The Beavs posted their third-lowest FT/FGA in Pac-12 play. Things seem to shake out well for Oregon State, when the refs do not call a bunch of garbage fouls.

I’m not rooting for it, but a loss to Colorado leaves the team at 5 conference wins, which is what I answered in the poll.
