I have uncovered 7 of the herbs and spices. The last four are proving to be very elusive. Don't count me out though. Basil, black pepper, celery salt, dried mustard, garlic salt, ginger, oregano, paprika, salt, thyme, and white pepper. MSG

Basil, black pepper, celery salt, dried mustard, garlic salt, ginger, oregano, paprika, salt, thyme, and white pepper. MSG It is beyond time to end the racist-born anti-Chinese MSG paranoia. There is MSG in pretty much all good chicken.

Did they have that in Kentucky in the 1930's? Side notes: I saw something of a biography of Harlan Sanders on some cable channel. It's been a while, but it was good and I want to say there was a murder or maybe a self-defense killing involved. 2nd side note: my wife is from Peru. She talks about not going to KFC, but to "Kentucky" for chicken. When we lived in Ensenada Mexico, we went through the drive through line, at KFC, with three of her kids in the back seat. It was a huge deal. In Lima, there are two McDonald's with drive throughs but basically nothing else. Here in Portugal, the suburban McDonald's and BK have some drive through lines but I don't remember seeing others. Even buying fuel is different. Pull up, fuel your vehicle, then walk inside and pay. Rambling, but for breakfast this morning I had three decent sized empanada type pastries filled with chorizo, onions, and cheese. 70 euro cents at the market 100 yards - no meters, from our apartment.

MSG was first isolated in Japan in 1908 and began intentionally adding it into food in 1909. MSG spread elsewhere thereafter. MSG was first identified as potentially harmful in 1968 in what seems to have been a prank, which people errantly believed was real. There was a disease identified as Chinese restaurant syndrome at that time. The "syndrome" appears to mimic exposure to high quantities of salt. There has been no scientific study, which has tied MSG to any negative effects. MSG is naturally occurring in several foods and is generally more healthy for you than similar quantities of salt. In 2016, Anthony Bourdain stated in Parts Unknown that "I think MSG is good stuff ... You know what causes Chinese restaurant syndrome? Racism."

So, I take it that Canham is recommending MSG for May's forearm?

So, I take it that Canham is recommending MSG for May's forearm? Slap some chicken on there and drink a few beers and he'll be right as rain.

I'm learning a lot in here, and basically nothing about May's injury, which I expect....we've seen this movie a hundred times before.
The usefulness of what I've learned in here is debatable.

Cliff Clavin says something like why bother learning stuff if it's going to be useful.

Dorman on Joe Beaver said May is day to day. He’s not expecting him to pitch this weekend. He is expecting him back eventually.

Sorry if I worded it like it sounded dire, it came off like the opposite when I heard it.
