Not surprised. Got some young guys who could make their way onto the list next season.
I'm sure Dorman will have the guys embrace it......no one thinks you're very good.....prove em wrong.

Jimenez and Keljo should take it personal, although the big question with them is - starter or bullpen?

Jimenez and Keljo should take it personal, although the big question with them is - starter or bullpen? Why? Jimenez has one career save, Keljo none. In what universe should they be ranked in the top 50 of all college relievers?

In what universe should they be ranked in the top 50 of all college relievers? Yeah... agree! And, since player rankings are so accurate. Out of all the top 100+ programs suddenly May is the 36th best starter? Really? Because he's now on a top 5-10 ranked preseason team? But, on the other hand, a Top 5 team has only one starter in the Top 100? Seems strange... rankings don't seem to jibe.

In what universe should they be ranked in the top 50 of all college relievers? Didn’t mean to imply they should, just that I hope they come into the season with a chip on the shoulder. I thought it was possible d1 would include Jimenez only because of his all-star run on the Cape, but not surprised he was excluded from either pitcher list.

OSU relievers lack identity. You may see as many as 15 pitchers trot in from the pen this year. Several pitched out of the pen last year that I think are being groomed to be starters (Jiminez, Keljo, and freshman Talavs).
How do you rank a Hutchison, Mundt or Lattery? Coach Dorman is the King of 1 out to 2 inning appearances max. - he uses everybody but not for long. Coach Dorman has a "short hook", at most you will see a Beaver reliever once through the lineup and POOF! he's gone and you are looking at a different arm.
Many teams have a long reliever, short reliever and closer, and you can identify that.
We have 15 of them.

We may not have any "A's", but we have a whole lotta B pluses.

We may not have any "A's", but we have a whole lotta B pluses. "We" have a lot of "NG" until they actually have a decent amount of D1 competition. Good news is that we don't need all to pass muster. And, some will, but develop later. Even in 2024 there will be one to two arms that just figure everything out. And, it's always nice to have a couple late developers that are truly unknown to teams later on. Tons of potential, but as of now, just that. Plus we've already been bit pretty big by early injuries. I think a couple Pac12 foes are a bit underrated. As they had solid recruiting classes that will be bolstered by returning injuries. But, again... potential.

RGeorge, may I say this with all respect, you are a contributor and I enjoy reading your comments. I will take the liberty of speaking for myself and a few other posters. I think we understand "potential", "unproven". "speculative", "untested", and all of those other descriptive adjectives we see posted when discussing anything beyond last year. We get the point, you are not the only person with a keen eye for the obvious.
If we couldn't talk about the next game, next year or any recruiting class, we would be restricted to discussing our last game, last season, and OSU baseball history. That would severely limit our fun, restrict our speculation, imagination, and dreams. Any conversation about the future would be verboten because it is unproven..
This board should be a topical mix of what has happened, what will happen and what we think might happen. Rather than your constant reminders to "temper" our enthusiasm with those constant "Doubting Thomas" caveats we see, why not develop a boiler plate reminder leading into your posts - something like, " What can go wrong, will go wrong", or "there's no half with the glass, it's empty".
When I get stoked about some kid that throws 100 mph and he just committed to the Beavs. I don't need to read that a) he hasn't thrown an inning of college ball yet, b) his secondary stuff might not be good enough or c) his arm might fall off, or some other "rain on my parade" comment.
. . . you're bringing me down, man.
