This staff so far seems to have a better connection to the Polynesian community. A bunch of their recruits have already been Polynesian players. I’m excited to see what they can do with next years class. Oregon State has always been a welcoming location for the Polynesian Community. I know they still participate in the Degree Partnership program with Hawaii colleges for dual enrollment and I'm pretty sure there have been similar programs designed to make it easier/possible for people living in the state of Hawaii to go to school in Corvallis. Plus, Local Boyz. I think it's been darn near always for that. When I attended in the 80's, OSU was a destination for above average Hawaii kids. And my mom says the same thing in the early 50's.

Ya that’s my point. It seems like it had kind of dropped off quite a bit for awhile and I was seeing a lot more on other pac teams. Hopefully they can put a net over Hawai’i. Back in the day they used to have a great Hawaiian pipeline and it’s seemed like a bunch of the top talent from here has gone elsewhere a lot more lately.

Banker and Cav coached at Hawaii and had strong local connections there, and that was part of the reason that OSU was doing so well in Hawaii back in the day. The Hawaii fans really hated Riley and Co for their recruitment of talent off the rock.
