Guaranteed $ for 3rd rd is about $690k... I believe I read almost 400 players that were undrafted are on rosters. That's a 5th of a roster. And plenty of draftees get released. Treston is still 4th rd to not mentioned on many draft boards. We'll see, but rather he be playing Saturday thsn worry about silly draft prospects. It's still almost always better to get drafted than it is to become a UDFA. Teams will give you more chances to succeed when they know they invested a draft pick (and a larger bonus) in you than just signing you off the street.

Not including under classmen who can declare. Treston's best bet is as UFDA so he can pick the best situation for him. Seattle right now would not be a good deal. LOL...No. Certainly an interesting theory, but then, I'm sure if you asked Treston yourself he'd prefer to be drafted in the first 3 rounds of the draft and take the guaranteed signing bonus rather than a $25G signing bonus the rookie minimum. I'm pretty sure you'd get the same answer a week after the draft if you asked 99% of UDFAs if they would have preferred being drafted in the 3rd round over dealing with the uncertainty of being an UDFA. If a team drafts you in the 3rd round, you are part of that teams plans. 35 kids were drafted in the 3rd round last year, non were cut. In fact, if you are drafted in the first five rounds, odds are you are making the team. Of the 171 players drafted in the first 5 rounds last year, only 4 were cut, 3 of which from the 5th round.

Like with most kids it has zero to do with they want vs what is best for their career. But, never argue with speculators! There is not one draft site that is anywhere near accurate with picking by placement in a rd let alone a round. At this time Treston is somewhere between the 35th-50th CB if mentioned at all. So again... hope he plays Saturday could really care less about speculation of draft position. But, as pointed out the NFL rosters are full of UDFA making good NFL rookie minimums.

So if you could choose. Would you rather be a 3rd round draft pick or an UDFA? That's my point... you don't get to choose. All conjecture on a message board. We get to discuss things outside of reality. Like what a head coach should do. Or how an OC calls a game plan. No. You said Treston's best bet is to be an UDFA so he can pick his best situation. I agree that noone actually gets to pick. However, I cannot name a single football player that would rather be an UDFA than a 3rd round pick. IF I have the choice, I pick the 3rd rounder over UDFA every time. See, not hard standing up and making a choice. As the OP, I started this thread because the game thread at the time was reaming the team, coaching staff, players, play calling, what the cheer leaders were wearing, and whether Miller Lite was less filling or tasted great. I was trying to point out that there were some POSITIVE aspects to our Beavers.

Lets just leave it he's not close to the the top 20-25 CBs expecially with underclassmen yet to declare... IMHO. I do have a choice to say that.
