Should the Beavs try to get him back or walk right on by ? Walk... Hankerson is "Jam" but faster with more years left, and big play potential from the backfield or slot. Didn't get a lot of touches in DS offense, but a great pickup/change of pace. These guys have different skillsets. Hankerson is faster, and quicker. Jam is thicker and stronger. He will lower the shoulder and hit people, and drag people. I am glad to take both. IMO we are going to need all the different skillsets we can muster in an offense with an essentially brand new offensive line and an offensive identity that has yet to be established. Hankerson I see as another Trey Lowe type. I found the "Or slot," comment interesting as a way to get him out into the open field where he could be extremely dangerous. I wonder if he has skills as a receiver? He had some catches at Colo but the yd/catch numbers suggest these were all dump offs rather than downfield throws. If he has some skills as a receiver he could maybe sub in for Card occasionally as our speed guy and run some fly sweeps. Other plays he could line up at RB.

Just passing on what someone said last summer and don't know whether its true or was just speculation. What was said was it was family issue rather than a football issue. He is from Georgia, had a brother who has playing for one of the Virginia schools.

he choose OSU. You still think OSU shoUNC “walk” on by? My opinion... had other needs more important to focus on... had a very similar back just commit. But, if he approached/chose osu you don't say no. Just wouldn't put a guy who chose to leave and return a priority. So, maybe the title of the thread didn't fit my thoughts?! Griffin suffered a hip flexor injury in fall camp, which kept him out until the Fresno game. Beginning with the Fresno game, Martinez was second-string to Fenwick with Griffin serving as third-string. Fenwick started against USC with Martinez backing him up, but Griffin was the leading rusher, scoring what should have been the game-winning touchdown on a spectacular run with less than five minutes left. Griffin was second-string against Utah before falling back to third-string. Fenwick went down against Wazzu with Martinez picking up a majority of Fenwick's carries. Griffin started against Colorado. Martinez took over after that. Fenwick rushed back against Washington but either re-aggravated or suffered some kind of leg injury against Washington, because Fenwick missed the next two. Griffin was Martinez' primary backup against Cal but went out early with a concussion. Griffin was Martinez' primary backup against Arizona State also but went out early with some kind of lower leg injury. Martinez started against Oregon but went out in the third quarter in a 31-10 ballgame. Griffin notably rushed for most of the yards on Oregon State's first drive of the fourth quarter to set up Newell's 15-yard touchdown to turn a 34-17 deficit into a 34-24 deficit. Martinez went down in the first quarter of the Las Vegas Bowl, primarily replaced by Fenwick. Griffin, though, added the final touchdown, fighting through an uncalled facemask to score touchdown number four to make it 30-0 with a little more than 13 minutes left.

This is basically exactly what I thought. The question posed was "Should OSU go GET Jam" my answer was basically why? We just got a guy. But if it is more what it appears, Jam wanted to come back and we said sure. Then hell yeah. Of course you take a guy like him back. There is a difference there. The question was do we take OSU limited time and resources to recruit him back? Versus, a guy is making it clear he wants to come back, so we make sure we have the room. I would not of supported getting in a bidding/recruiting war for Griffin. I would, of course, welcome him back on his own accord with open arms.
