But but but how could this be? Do you think Bolden will have more yards at Texas than last year at Oregon State?

But but but how could this be? Do you think Bolden will have more yards at Texas than last year at Oregon State? Well, that's not exactly an easy call. I do know that Quinn Ewers is returning at QB and Sarkisian will most likely use Bolden in a variety of ways. He'll get plenty of opportunities to catch the ball if he works his way into either a starting job or a lot of PT. I would think they have a specific plan in mind for him because they have him for the one season.

Not what you want to read, and not certain it is accurate.
“What appeals to me about Texas is they have a great staff up there that can help improve my game.”

Stats, maybe. I think the only thing that is really going to improve is his bank account statement. No judgement from me, though. I don't resent his decision or anything like that. Just not happy that he won't finish his career with the Beavers.

But but but how could this be? The four leading receivers for Texas all left for the draft? and they already grabbed their two new starters in Golden (4* Houston transfer) and Bond (4* Alabama transfer) and needed their 3rd WR? Opportunity and fit. It ain't a riddle. OSU has recently landed two transfer WRs, which as HS prospects would of easily been among the highest rated we have ever landed. If not THE highest rated (don't want to do the research on this). Both are tall and explosive. I have high confidence our passing game looks much better next year. As we talked about ad naseum, Bolden was a quality Beav, but as an overall lead WR, he was limited. He is going to fit in real nice at Texas being their 3rd WR and gadget guy. He will pair up really well on safeties and nickels, and burn a lot of guys deep. He will probably have a nice year. He already showed us he can't put this team on his back as the #1 guy, like Hass could. Like Cooks could. Like Hodgins could. I think Anderson and Clemons can be those guys we need to be robust, routine and reliable chain movers.

Not what you want to read, and not certain it is accurate. “What appeals to me about Texas is they have a great staff up there that can help improve my game.” And, as of now they have 14 returners + 5 HS recruits at WR. Only 2 WRs had his #s or more. Next best #s, TE returning. Only 4 other WR caught a total if 52 balls. So unless he's one if the top 3 threats on that roster he'll prob not match his receiving #s. My guess he doesn't come close to his seasons at OSU. BUT, he'll still probably make some explosive plays. AND, if I'm not mistaken Silas had more return yds the last two years than receiving? So, in betting he's surely pegged as the return guy.

I think that what's going to happen is Silas is going to get fewer touches than either one of his last 2 seasons at Oregon State. Will that harm his draft stock? I'm not sure that there is going to be much influence one way or the other - a guy his size simply is not going to get a look at the NFL level unless he has other-worldly talent and speed. I'm talking about a DeSean Jackson kind of talent and speed, which Silas simply does not have. So if that's the case, I don't resent his decision and honestly I don't begrudge him the chance to cash in and grab a bag before his football playing career comes to a close.

Even Desean Jackson was 5’10”. Not sure if Silas is even 5’8”. Extreme long shot with that size.

I don't really disagree but Bond had 48 catches for 668 yards and 4 touchdowns and Golden had 38 catches for 404 yards and 6 TDs compared to Bolden's 54 catches for 746 yards and five TDs. I'm not sure it's a guarantee that he's going to be the No. 3 guy out of these transfers. I would add that this is Texas we're talking about. They can have their pick of guys and one guy they picked is Bolden.

True, I was just going with the first guy I could think of who was light in the tail and made up for it with unbelievable speed. Rondale Moore plays for the Cardinals, is 5-7 but he's almost 200 pounds and built like a running back, so it didn't seem like an apt comparison. The truth is, I can not really think of a guy who is both as short and as light as Silas that ever even got a cup of coffee with the NFL.

Tank Dell, who got his leg busted while trying to block on a goal-line run earlier this year is listed at 5'10" and 165 on the Texans roster, but his combine measurement said he was 5'8". I'm sure if we go back in time far enough, we can find examples. I know Mack Herron was 5'5", 170# and led the Patriots in rushing, receiving, KOR, and PR in 1974.

I ran into Jailen Holmes at the airport. He's supposed to be 5'10" but my 5'7"/5'8" 13-year-old was about the same size. Quarterback and receiver heights remind me of the old joke about 5'10" people. Why are 5'10" women so much taller than 5"10" men? Because 5'10" women are actually 5'10" We are obsessed with height. Look how many flame out 1st round QB's there have been who had "prototypical size". We are obsessed with height, because it's the only thing that you cannot teach.
