Our president and AD (as well as WSU's) deserve major props.
It's amazing to consider where we started, and where this ended.
This all began as a purely defensive move. We got wind of George calling a meeting that could have ended the conference, and simply said "not so fast".
The only way to stop that was to seize control. So we did.
Funny thing is, the idea of us withholding any current-year revenue never even entered my brain until the Husky lawyer raised it as a huge concern in the court case. I certainly didn't see any discussion of it here until then.
I wonder when the idea entered OSU/WSU's consciousness. Seriously, I'm genuinely curious if doing anything at all with the current revenue was even being considered when we filed that defensive TRO.
It might be a very simplistic take, but I just love the idea of the T10 throwing out a defense of, "but they'll be in control of current revenue and can withhold it from us!", and then OSU and WSU looking at each other and going, "Hmmmm....that's not a bad idea...." 🤔

Obviously, I don't know the exact details of the deal, but on the surface it sounds like the main points were everything we could hope for:
1. The t10 having to give up some revenue THIS year 2. The t10 having to make guarantees regarding all current lawsuits against the Pac XX. 3. OSU and WSU getting to keep all future assets and revenues beyond this season.
That covers all the bases. Getting to can Kliavkoff at no expense would be a nice bonus. I would like to see OSU and WSU negotiate his exit package.

I would love to read the agreement especially dealing with future liabilities. And also now we need to examine the damges done by Larry S. and George K. with their mismanagement of the conference.

One thing is for sure: We had excellent legal representation that was worth every penny. People like to take shots at attorneys but when you need legal help as the Pac-2 did, I'm glad we found some outstanding ones.

Their logic and plain talk was all the more impressive contrasted against UW’s tapdancing shysters.

Canzano says $255 million between OSU and WSU "Oregon State and Washington State announced that they have reached a settlement with the 10 departing schools. The financial piece of the agreement gives the two schools protection against liabilities involving ongoing lawsuits, $190 million in future conference revenue and $65 million from the departing schools that will be spread out over the next two years." The rest is behind a paywall

To clearly illuminate how NOT to run a conference, now that we are building and running one ourselves.

Comcast overpayment liability is about 6 mil per school so about 72 million. And this goes to my previous post. What did Larry S know, when did he know, and what did he do to correct the problem nothing, or make Comcast aware of the problem and have them make a correction in the payment amount? So does Larry have some responsibility and the other financial geniuses? As commissioner does the buck stop with him. And George did he over sell his capabilities or abilities to get the conference a media deal or was he plotting his exit strategy.? George just needs to go. It is amazing we ask the candidate who came in second to help us find our way thru this mess. And maybe that’s why we don’t have media deal because who would want to deal with us. That’s the 50 million dollar question?

That’s the 50 million dollar question? Already dealt with. Paid out of distributions and two(?) employees responsible were fired and suing. Doesn't matter when Larry knew, his employees basically hid the overpayment. Spilled milk and the Pac2 isn't going to look at Larry, and would be a waste of time if they did. The time for such nonsense would have been as the Pac12 and when Larry left. Even then he wouldn't have been held libel as there was no damages. The Pac12 was over paid... Comcast was "damaged". The Pac12 simply had to repay what wasn't theirs.
