Will announce his choice on Oct. 17 or 18, according to OregonLive. I don't know much about his game. If he committed to OSU, would he just be buried behind Ethan Thompson, or do they play with different styles in a complementary way?

I thought the same thing SD... But at the same time, it's now a guard dominated game with a lot of teams going small ball, 3 guard line-ups, etc... When I watched him on video, he looked a little bigger to me than he's listed, so maybe he can play some SF? Either way, feels like a guy who develops into the role versus a guy who we expect to step in and contribute immediately - and I'm really just basing this off of his offer list and a couple snippets of video.

BTW- Andrew Nemec (who I think does a nice job covering recruiting) tweeted that he's hearing good things about our 2017 class, may be some developments in the next day or so. I'm guessing Negron would be the most logical domino to fall our way.

I love all that's happening with the women's recruiting, but I am anxious to hear some news on the men's recruiting efforts!

Same here. I was wondering if Negron was the next "development" -perhaps that's on hold a bit until we learn more about the knee. Though I don't know if we even hesitated when it was Kone last year.

Kone didn't tear his ACL until January, so he'd already signed. I really like Negron, he looks like a good prospect, hopefully we're still in on him.

Yay!!!! Getting some good non-family pickups now... Have not seen him play, not really into star count... have you/anyone seen him? Is he really good enough to fit the excellent wings/backcourt we have? Or is he just the best Oregon kid we want to keep in-State recruiting hot? Just wondering... cuz if was near as talented as some of our current/past recruits he'd be hyped locally more? Opinions...

Not that Oregon is always flush with the best players in the nation, save once every few years.Even following stars, he's only a 3. But I'm okay with 3 stars being the bench support

I was at the 5A state championship game last season....you would not have been able to identify him as the obvious Pac-12 quality player that game. He finished with 11 points (2nd on his team) in a 47-31 victory. I wouldn't project him to be a contributor immediately.

Scout had a pretty thorough breakdown of "what kind of player we are getting", but it appears it's moved from free to premium. The analysis (paraphrasing) was that he was a very good catch and shoot kid, excellent range, solid IQ. Not nearly as good off the dribble. didn't seem to have any negatives in terms of athleticism or defense. He lit it up on the AAU circuit this past summer and recruiting picked up heavily (35 offers according to the Tribune including Stanford and Utah).
Would guess early on, he sounds like a role player/zone buster type and if all goes well, turns out to be much more than that.
