The duck chumps I know were talking a blowout win. My wife lined up my Friday schedule, so watching the ducks lose was impossible.
However, hearing about their loss, imagining the pain for duck fan, schadenfreude, etc, has me heading into the new year with a lot of energy & positivity.
I'm Happy😀👍

I just read Orams column on Nix. Kid is all class. I've sorta rooted against just because it's hole but after reading that I wish him well in NFL.

I boycotted the game. Wasn’t going to add to the tv numbers for the two traitor universities. Wish both teams could have lost, but glad the huskies ultimately won. I live in Eugene and now I get to bask in all the duck disappointment

I live in Eugene and now I get to bask in all the duck disappointment Sorry to hear that. I grew up in Eugene and it was a genuinely nice town to live in in the late 80s/90s. Duck fans used to be tolerable, too. I grew up going to duck games, and remember seeing a large number of "Partnership for a Husky-Free Northwest" bumper stickers (with a beaver and a duck on them). It's not like that anymore.
I boycotted the game too - this was the best possible outcome though. If, worst case scenario, the huskies win a championship, we won't have to hear about it for the rest of our lives like we would if the doinks went to the CFP and won.

A couple of years after I moved to Oregon in 1986, I noticed Oregon fans wearing shirts saying "Respect--Demand It!"
My immediate reaction was "How about earning it first?"
They were already insufferable, and that was well before the Nike $$$ started flowing.

I just read Orams column on Nix. Kid is all class. I've sorta rooted against just because it's hole but after reading that I wish him well in NFL. Feel the same way. I have great respect for Nix. He’s persevered through a lot, put together a couple of great seasons, and by all accounts is a really great kid. I could just never root for Oregon. I’ve really tried in the past, but could never do it. In the ‘95 Rose Bowl, my college roommate from OSU and I had every intention of pulling for the ducks against Penn St (huge breakthrough and all, PAC 10 team, blah, blah, blah…) We told our grade school aged boys before the game that we were going to go for the ducks. They looked so disappointed. When the Lions’ Kijan (sp?) Carter busted the first play from scrimmage for a TD, our boys whooped and pumped their fists. My buddy and I looked at each other, laughed, and joined them in their celebration. No room in this lifetime Beavers’ heart for any trace of duck love!
