Game ball goes to Chol Marial 18 points 10 rebounds 1 block Sort of a joke, but didn't that like double his career points? Endured a ton. Good for him! 20 points all of last year and 10 points in the first six games this year. 37.5% of his total points scored in orange and black were scored tonight. Well said, though!

The nice thing about Marial is his shot. He can shoot. $ from the foul line.

The nice thing about Marial is his shot. He can shoot. $ from the foul line. And, although awkward looking at times, he's agile with touch.

Went to bed after first half last night — not out of disgust, but was tired out here in eastern time zone — so watching the replay. All these early turnovers out top with lazy passes and bad handoffs while trying to initialize offense are so frustrating. Do they put no defensive pressure on offense during practices? They look like they’re completely surprised the D is actually contesting passes and those handoffs.
Good to see Rataj’s play in first half. Looks like he’s rounding into shape. And Lake continues to impress.

Bilodeau is really pressing. Just watched him get an offensive foul on a rebound when he basically just launched himself into back of UCD under basket.

Forever to be known in my mind as the Chol Roll Game. Should have had an inkling when he hit that early 3. I’ve not been much of a fan of Chol’s and been critical of Dexter, but tip of the hat to them both. On a day that Pope was merely OK and Bilodeau wasn’t himself, they came up big. And Lake continues to impress. Really interested in seeing how he does once conference play begins.
On the negative side, not going to beat good teams turning the ball over 22 times and giving up 13 offensive rebounds. Team did play good defense — 10 steals and 18 forced turnovers — except for fouling too much. Rochelin continues to struggle . . . and foul. He did hit a 3 and had a steal, so maybe there is some light at the end of the tunnel. And anyone know situation with Craig? Box score shows him not playing, though I swear I heard his name a couple times. Is he hurt or just a matter of Lake taking his minutes tonight with his inspired play?
Good to break the losing streak. Go Beavs.

Good to break the losing streak. Go Beavs. Craig did not play. Best part of the game was in the first half when #10 hit a three and blew a kiss towards Ellie Tinkle. She looked like she wanted to punch him. He was kind of a punk. I sad right behind the UC Davis bench and am still amazed that Jim Les played in the NBA. I know he’s 60, but his size makes him look like he would barely make a HS team. Fun second half. Really like Lake’s play.

Bilodeau is really pressing. Just watched him get an offensive foul on a rebound when he basically just launched himself into back of UCD under basket. He really needs to “do less” or “try easier” I feel like he was expected to go 12 and 7 every game. If Tyler is expected to be the #2 scorer night In night out he will continue to play frustrated. Now I’ll be honest I didn’t get to watch the game last night but that’s been my impression YTD. He needs to be a solid guy scoring 7-9, getting his boards and setting his teammates up to succeed. Until he starts hitting his 3s, he needs to play his role and not try to score 4 points and get 3 rebounds every time down the court.

I think DCs defense is worse than his scoring ability is good (which is actually great) he might get a chance at Justin’s minutes if he doesn’t figure it out soon. JR fouls a ton and DC olé’s a ton. I have been down on Chol, but games like tonight show you why he was so highly regarded out of high school. Again I’m just looking at box scores as I didn’t get to watch the game. My question is who guarded Pepper last night, that was the MVP OF THE GAME. Had he hit 2 or 3 more shots that would have been a totally different game

Had he hit 2 or 3 more shots that would have been a totally different game Dexter was guarding Pepper most of the game. He was very physical with him. In fact both teams were really physical. The second half had so many fouls called that it took forever and there probably could've been even more called. Bilodeau had a bad game due to foul trouble, although not as bad as KC (4 fouls in 4 minutes). Tyler really never got into a rhythm.

It was definitely a theme last year. Crazy thing is how much better he is now than he was last year

Glad they won. They NEEDED it. I needed it. Tink needed it.
