Uh, yikes! This is certainly a shocker. SMU came in with the #4 RPI, finished first in the American Athletic Conference, runners up in the AAC tournament. The most they gave up in a match this season was in a 3-1 loss at Denver. Only given up 13 goals entering tonight. And ranked #2 in the end-of-regular-season coaches poll www.ncaa.com/rankings/soccer-men/d1/united-soccer-coachesIf you look at that end of season coaches poll, not only is OSU not in the top 25, they didn't get a single vote. Hey, that's just fine with me. Thus far in the tournament they've knocked off the poll-ranked #13, #9 and #2 teams. To quote the legendary Ric Flair - "If you want to be the best, you've got to beat the best - Whoooooo!!". |
