?? The article literally states that they have no clue who has been interviewed: "All four coaches are in their mid-40s and have years of experience running FBS football programs to varying degrees of success. As we mentioned in our previous article, it is important to be clear that these are not necessarily the final four candidates -- or even the top four candidates -- being considered by Michigan State."

The article references a source that “confirms” these four are being interviewed. “ Rivals’ national recruiting analyst Clint Cosgrove has confirmed with sources that MSU has interviewed at least these four coaches for its football head coaching position.” So which is it?

Which is what? Nowhere in the article does it say that Smith is one of the coaches that interviewed for the job, it just says that 4 different peeps have interviewed...

C'mon man, if you read the entire article and the 'previous article' you will see that none of those coaches listed have been interviewed...

The Rivals guy said “at least THESE four” have been interviewed. That states JS interviewed. C'mon man, if you read the entire article and the 'previous article' you will see that none of those coaches listed have been interviewed... Your references are correct. But here is what their article clearly says: "Rivals’ national recruiting analyst Clint Cosgrove has confirmed with sources that MSU has interviewed at least these four coaches""These four coaches" includes JS. The article says it is confirmed, from that reference, that MSU interviewed JS and the other three. Then the articles goes on to contradict the above "confirmation" that none of those listed have been interviewed, as you note. The article is a contradiction in itself. Poorly written. I do agree with you that it is far more likelty they didn't actually interview JS.

The newer article from yesterday supercedes it. The two contradicting references remain and Clint Cosgrove and his MSU sources state otherwise. Again, they are BOTH crap articles with circular conclusions and contradictory statements. At the end of the day, I still agree with you. It is doubtful JS was ever interviewed.

Jonathan would be doing himself a disservice not to participate in a zoom interview, whether he has intentions to leave or not.
