Wall Street Journal reporting the plane was shot down. The reading of the will would be interesting. Who inherits the mercenary army? The Pac-4?

Are you rooting for Putin here? Very confused. Of course not. By killing the leader/owner of his mercenary army, Putin is amputating himself, and that’s good. It feels like more of a housecleaning/purge/Knight of the Long Knives scenario. Prigozhin was one of the few people in Russia with the power and will to stand up to Putin. This puts Putin more in charge of everything, not less. "Smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered."--Zechariah 13:7.

Yeah, I could definitely be wrong, but I remember hearing something about one of the reason she was marching against Putin might have been that he didn’t think Putin was being aggressive enough against Ukraine.

Good riddance. In a perfect world, a$$holes aren't in charge of nuclear arsenals and there are no mercenary armies led by complete dicks. However, now that that dick, Prigozhin, is dead, who is going to f*#k that a$$hole, Putin? Or to put it a less Team America: World Police-way, the enemy of our enemy is our friend. And today one of our greatest enemies, Putin, has one fewer major enemy. Ferdinand von Bredow, General Kurt von Schleicher, and Gregor Strasser were complete dicks, but they helped to check those a$$holes Hermann Goering, Heinrich Himmler, and Adolf Hitler. Without von Bredow, von Schleicher, and Strasser, there were no dicks strong enough to oppose the a$$hole Nazis as they transitioned from a national nuisance to inter-continental mass-murders I just cannot disagree with you more strongly.

The elimination of both Prigozhin and Putin would be a reason for celebration. The elimination of one without the other is very, very problematic.

Well, we’ve seen what happens when we back one tyrant to overthrow another. I don’t know the answer because I would like Putin gone as soon as possible, but I’ve seen our meddling go wrong too often. Let the people revolt.

Let the people revolt. In this instance US isn't backing any "tyrant". Ukraine is fighting to expel an invader/occupier. We are assisting their fight with logistics and equipment. In that equation the elimination of the Wagner group's founder/leader/former Putina caterer is an unmitigated positive - for Ukraine's fight.

I tend to side with Wilky on this that losing Putin's most dangerous thorn in his side is a bummer, but here is a pretty good rundown of all the good that comes from this:

I tend to side with Wilky on this that losing Putin's most dangerous thorn in his side is a bummer, but here is a pretty good rundown of all the good that comes from this: Wagner Group is/was a mercenary paramilitary private business undertaking . Nothing more, nothing less. Their doomed-from-the-start “uprising” was a desperate, last gasp business decision. It certainly wasn’t based on any idea of deposing Putina and righting his wrongs. Like many who aligned themselves with Vladimir Vladimirovich, they were jolly pals in crime until they lost their usefulness. At that point they became expendable. Shed no tears for Prigozhin.
