Kind of ironic. Reagan was the person that used that verbiage. But under his administration spending went from 688 billion to 1.144 trillion. Careful there, Speak. Comments like that could move you up to 33.3% in your little yellow bar. By the way, administrations from both parties nowadays routinely run deficits way, way in excess of $1.144 trillion. Since it sounds like you know. What's the purpose of the yellow bar?

I'm from the government, and I'm here to help. I expect that the government will not act. If they do, they will assuredly screw it up. Pass an initiative. Too late to actually get Oregon to stay, but you could try to get them back in 2025. As the old RR quote goes... "The nine most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the Government, and I'm here to help. " said no one ever when referring to defense, or infrastructure, or even feeding the poor.

I'm typically not a fan of gub interference......but, this was done specifically in the name of the greed of college football. The lack of consideration for anything else related to their own university, and the others in the conference, is total bulls%#t. I truly hope this completely blows up in the faces of the defectors.......if the gub helps in that respect, so be it.

I'm typically not a fan of gub interference......but, this was done specifically in the name of the greed of college football. The lack of consideration for anything else related to their own university, and the others in the conference, is total bulls%#t. I truly hope this completely blows up in the faces of the defectors.......if the gub helps in that respect, so be it. The government of the State of Oregon will do nothing that changes the situation. Ducks vote too. The State of Texas did nothing when A&M went to the SEC, Oklahoma did nothing when OU left Okie State and killed the bedlam game. Ducks vote, Phil and Nike fund campaigns and pay lots of taxes, this will just be some politicians making speeches about how important OSU is and how important the civil war is then they will scurry back to their holes. OSU will have to rely on itself during this adversity.

I was very critical of the NCAA when this first happened, but as I learned recently, the lawsuit in 1984 basically deballed the association from controlling conferences and TV contracts. Another example of what uncontrolled greed and capitalism can ultimately do to a conference like the PAC12, and college (amateur) athletics

The Oregon legislature did try to pass a bill that would link the fate of the the two State of Oregon Pac 12 schools together...It died in discussion/committee...
So any discussion by by those in Salem now are a day short and MANY dollars short...

Whatever happens im still a Beav......I will just sit back and let it unfold, and hope we can remain somewhat relevant in college athletics

However, that was passed before the issue came up, not after the fact. Doubtful that this will amount to anything.

The warning siren system in Hawaii is hardly archaic, somebody was asleep at the wheel.
The sirens go off every month at 11:45 am on the first business day and they're looking for ones that don't work. Everyone that actually lives there knows if it's not 11:45 am early in the month, there's something big happening. Seems to me someone set it off several years ago and it caused a big panic.
