I'm sitting here wearing Brooks shoes and shorts. My t-shirt is from Adidas. I don't own any nike gear. It's about principles.

That’s a great idea! The NIKE deal is is terribly low According to Kerry Egger's story on Lightning McCoy, OSU's equipment manager, we have one of the best Nike deals in the country among schools not named Oregon. "From 2003-14, with Riley at the coaching helm, McCoy fortified Oregon State’s relationship with Nike. The Beaverton-based shoe and apparel company provides all equipment for OSU teams except football helmets (the Beavers are “preferred partners” with Rydell).
"Oregon State is one of about a dozen of Nike’s “promo” schools, behind Oregon but on par with the likes of Southern Cal, Ohio State, Michigan, Texas and Stanford in terms of getting state-of-the-art gear."

There are others out there with money. Intel has ton of money in this state. Why not get naming rights for "Intel Stadium" . That would be kind of cool.

Considering the founder and CEO is an OSU grad and their market cap is about 8X that of Intel, and that founder has thrown a ton of money at OSU recently, and gaming id one of the largest and fastest growing industries, I'd probably offer it to Nvidia first.

One school has a Nike deal & the other an Adidas deal. They’re not close but maybe it’s a good deal for Nike.

Which uniforms and equipment do your sons think is superior, and best suits their needs and keeps them safer? That the criteria that should be used when making a choice, not simply "who pays us more money" and "who gives us more stuff."

I didn't realize Intel and Nvidia made athletic apparel. If they did, it would probably be really cool. AI athletic gear.

These desperate times have fogged people’s brains. And what the heck did the Reser’s do to you? They only stepped up when nobody would touch Oregon St with a 10 ft pole. Now you want to just replace their name with companies that as far as I know have never helped OSU athletics before? And at the worst possible time for what value they would perceive they will get out of it? Forget that we just tried to cozy up with Apple!

And at the worst possible time for what value they would perceive they will get out of it? Forget that we just tried to cozy up with Apple! I'm assuming the Reser's paid naming rights for a certain length of time. I'm certain they did initially and that initial time period has expired. I also assumed they extended it. I'm in zero hurry to rename the stadium. If the Reser deal were expired I'd be happy with keeping it as is, or going back to Parker, until a new naming rights contract is done. It was a pay for naming deal, a very generous one. All agreements should be lived up to, but once they're done, the pay for naming rights precedent has already been set, and the Reser family literally set it. I've been a fan through one name change, I'm ok with another if it helps the athletic department. Jensen Huang (Nvidia founder) literally donated 50 million to OSU (academic purposes) this spring. Who knows if he's donated to the athletic department or not? If he were to step forward and be amongst the bidders the next naming rights go around, it's up to the athletic department to make the decision.

They can have naming rights for all the football and basketball and baseball complexes. Reser(Gill, Goss) Stadium at the NVDIA Sports Complex.
