Based on what we now know, what are the questions we should be asking about our baseball program? Can we ensure it plays in a competitive conference that offers 35-50+ percent of the conference a shot at the CWS?

Doesn't really matter. SEC is the only conference that matters in baseball anymore. Wherever we land we just have to land an autobid.

Will we have enough money to fund a championship level program? All the tools, scouting, gear, nutrition.. travel?

Are we going to lose recruits in the meantime while it settles out? Read we might have already today? That seems a bit hasty...but these are kids

Will we have enough money to fund a championship level program? All the tools, scouting, gear, nutrition.. travel? It depends on attendance, scheduling, and winning. As long as you schedule games that bring in fans and win those games, the program is going to be in great shape. Don't do that, and things get more difficult. I worry about baseball a lot less than basketball and football, because baseball is self-sufficient.

Well the good news is, you don't necessarily need to be in a power conference to have a team reach Omaha. But OSU will really need to beef up the non-conference slate if we're going to be hosting in June.

Screwed! With our new rival game PSU and the New NILTV (Jr. Pro) Leaque Baseball. Screwed!
Not sure we can keep the coaches!

Lol... this board is so hyperbolic.
First, it's our coaches are all about OSU, they're home grown, national program, low cost of living, great support and facilities, etc.
Now, they'll simply run off for more $, or at some budget cuts. Where is the highly thought of opinion of them? Our coaches will simply scatter when the going gets tough? Ok... good riddance.
Them leaving is pure "sky is falling" conjecture. What is guaranteed, coaches would line up to take over this baseball program.

Baseball should keep it rolling. Great facilities , coaches, and fans. West coast kids like OSU baseball and will continue to want to play here. Overall funding for baseball is my concern as with all sports in one year.

Schools like Cal State Fullerton have been successful long-term. I think we can easily do the same. Just need the fans to continue to support the program and turning out MLB level talent, and we will continue to get recruits and have success. The program won't go away just because we won't have the TV money.
