Who we profess to hate is a big part of building and solidifying an identity. This is typically done as a teen/young adult and is carried through life without review. It's a safe place to return to fit into groups and feel part of something larger. This is why many things people causally profess to hate are immature and silly to feel so strongly about as an adult. Not long ago a dude on a construction site told me how much he hates Jewel. She hasn't had a hit or been culturally relevant since 1998. She's spent her post lime light years working on housing and education. Whatever though, better than hating for a real reason lol Kinda funny that people are supporting Oral Roberts considering it's founded by the guy who created the prosperity doctrine offshoot of Christianity. Dude siphoned off millions from followers doing faith healing and telling them if they donated they would get rich as God favored them more. Most, if not all, of those kids playing for OSU don't know Oral Roberts from Orel Hershiser or oral hygiene. They just went there to play baseball. Price Allman went to Metro Christian Academy. Ryan Blackwell chose Oral Roberts, because "it is a safe place to be myself." Holden Breeze chose Oral Roberts, because he wants "to build a better relationship with God." Joshua Caravalho went to the King's Academy. Jonah Cox went to Flatirons Academy. Cade Denton went to Dallas Christian. Conner Floyd went to Lifeway Christian High School and chose Oral Roberts, because it is a "school with strong Christian morals." Brooks Fowler's dad played at Oklahoma Baptist. Sam Thompson was a mentor at South Tulsa Young Life. Ryan Tressler went to Davidson Academy. Dylan Wipperman chose Oral Roberts, because it was the “best fit for me academically, athletically and spiritually.” So, you have what the 3rd and 6th runs against Oregon in game two, as well as the winning pitcher? And then you have the 3rd and the game-winning 7th through 11th runs, as well as the starter?
I mean, at Oral Roberts, attendance "at Chapel is mandatory and attendance is taken by student leadership."
So..............
I dislike the University of Oregon, but they are a Pac-12 team, which means something.

Speaking of nazis vs nike u, I hate them as much as anybody on this board. I root for them to lose even when it's not in the interest of the Beavers. Having said that, am I going to root for hole over usc next year? I don't know. I doubt it but i guess I'll have to wait till game day, because I sure am salty at USC and UCLA for leaving and I may have to suspend my rule for a season because I'd like to see the LA schools crash and burn as they enter the Big 10. At least tsdtr is Pac-12 for now. Interesting dilemma. There's a compromise. Root for the boys in green, yellow, black, pink or whatever color Nike puts them in to win. But to lose key players in the battle. As far as I'm concerned my "hate" for the Ducks is fueled by an imaginary rivalry. But my hate for USC and UCLA has grown with their selfish moves. I want them to fail bad.

The Ducks distinguished themselves - they lost their Super Regional at home to a the Stillwater's Regions 4th seed, only the third 4-seed team in tournament history (Fresno State and SUNY-Stony Brook) to advance to Omaha.
Well done, quackies.

He was outstanding in David Cronenberg’s The Fly. The Big Chill, the Right Stuff, Law and Order CI. Missing out on post civil war bbq. If we lose her whole family acts really nice and gets me drunk. If they lose they all leave and I can get really drunk.

You are brave for touching that one Wilky. I typed stuff out 3 or 4 times and deleted it! Oral Roberts tuition is $32,500 a year (estimated true cost $43,500) and has a 48% graduation rate. Thats really bad but the university is riding that prosperity train to the bank!

Well done, quackies. Lost to a 3-seed Kent State last time they hosted in 2012. Have really under performed in their (2) most recent Super Regionals. To be fair, Stony Brook won a super regional in Baton Rouge in 2012. LSU eliminated the Beavs in the Baton Rouge regional that year. It's easy (and fun) to make fun of them, but I think I'd rather advance to the Super Regionals than get eliminated in the first round. Just saying.. I'm counting on the Beavers making it to Omaha again next year. Just need to have strong year and get a top 8 seed to make the path a lot easier. Tough to go through Baton Rouge.

Well done, quackies. I posted on the old board that the Ducks did something in their fourth year that Oregon State had never done and that was lose a home Super Regional. Well, the Ducks did something in their 15th year that Oregon State has never done and that is lose to a four-seed in their home Super Regional. Oregon baseball continues to impress!

I'm counting on the Beavers making it to Omaha again next year. Just need to have strong year and get a top 8 seed to make the path a lot easier. Tough to go through Baton Rouge. That 2012 LSU team was stacked, and Oregon State ran into some bad luck. LSU had two future MLB All-Star pitchers in Aaron Nola and Kevin Gausman and a third in Ryan Eades, who also spent a year in The Show. Oregon State was supposed to have Wetzler to go up against Gausman, but Wetzler was a late scratch. And Oregon State threw Dan Child instead, who gave up five runs, four earned, in 5.1 innings. Gausman threw eight strong innings, only giving up one run by Michael Conforto after Ryan Dunn's lone base hit. On the other side of the plate, Austin Nola singled and tripled to drive in two runs and score another on a wild pitch after Zach Reser came in for whatever reason. LSU did not mess around with Oregon State and brought their closer, Nick Goody, out in the ninth to finish up a very dangerous Oregon State team 7-1. Oregon State should have won the rematch behind what may have been Scott Schultz' best appearance ever. Schultz threw eight strong innings to give Oregon State the opportunity to win 5-4, with Schultz only giving up one unearned run after an poor Taylor Starr start allowed three runs to cross in the first. Instead of bringing on the closer, Tony Bryant, or one of the best Beaver pitchers of all-time in Matt Boyd, Casey and Yeskie left poor Schultz in there to pitch one too many innings and blow the 5-4 lead in the ninth, giving up two doubles. Conforto had a one-out double in the bottom of the ninth but was stranded there. Dylan Davis belatedly came on in the 10th and gave up the winning run before Bryant was brought on for five pitches. Boyd then came on to clean it up. LSU brought out Goody again, who mowed down the last three batters in order to send LSU to the Super Regional. Against Stony Brook, the first game rained out partway through, and LSU threw Kevin Gausman in the final inning with the idea that he would start the next game. Gausman came into start the second game but was not as effective as normal, giving up three runs in the first five innings. On the other side, Stony Brook saved their ace for game two, and he the distance, throwing 127 pitches in a three-hitter. Stony Brook got an almost as good start from their third starter, who also went the distance, throwing 129 pitches in a second three-hitter. Stony Brook put up three runs against Gausman and four runs against Eades, but each was good enough for the win.

I never want the ducks going to Omaha, they're our rival & I don't see it helping OSU Baseball. If they ever do go, I want this scenario to play out.
They get blown out in their first game 8-1 & some LSU fans overhear a duck fan talking about how they need to score more "points" tomorrow.
The green & yellow bandwagon fan base would provide Omaha with "priceless comedy."
