Anyone hear anymore on an overseas trip. Looks like other pac teams are doing trips in August. tsdtr is going to London and Greece. Ucla and Colorado have plans too.

UCLA has one foot in the non-PAC 12 grave. Their roster is set for this next season; they won't be adding to it, and no recruit attracted to their program by their overseas trip will ever play a minute of PAC 12 basketball. So they can go to Rome for a private audience with the Pope for all I care. |

One of our insiders must know by now who they are playing in Italy, and if there might be any streaming, by some company that does this Italian team regularly, or by an OSU WBB staff member.

I'm pretty sure games will not be streamed. i heard they are playing pro teams but not sure who. Pro teams in Italy are NOT like the WNBA here. Far from it!

I'm pretty sure games will not be streamed. i heard they are playing pro teams but not sure who. Pro teams in Italy are NOT like the WNBA here. Far from it! Yep... it is sort of a complicated system. It used to have about (9) levels or tiers of "pro" to "semi pro" leagues/divisions with promotion and relegation rules. I'm guess they will be playing Serie B level (at best??) teams or lower. Can from average to very good high school or lower DIII type teams here. It is a team building trip, not one to face good competition. Lega Basket Serie A (LBA) is the top... it was (16) teams Serie A2 Basket... is their 2nd division of "pro" ball... two (16) team leagues Serie B Basket... I think is the beginning of what they consider "semi pro" Six levels below this... A friend's daughter played in Europe while she was on "trip"... she was a decent 5A player in Oregon and ended up making a few bucks, sharing a room, plus board for like a tier 5 team. She easily made the team in a nonscheduled tryout. She loved the experience, but it wasn't because of the hoops, but for the chance to experience what most travelers would not. |

I could be totally wrong, but I think the team OSU played with Angie Bjorklund was a pretty high level team. I think they were Serie A1 (at least at the time). They definitely weren’t high school/DIII level. I’m pretty sure they other two were pretty bad though. |

So I’m walking along the beach in Positano Italy this morning and ran into 4 players. Small world. Apparently we were in Pompeii at the same time the other day too. Go Beavs!
