Given our injuries and on our 4th game - pitching is where I thought it would be - am really disappointed with our hitting 4 hits through 7 innings is not getting it done - top of our order terrible- was a time to step up but - 0 fer for our 1,2,3 batters through 7 way to step up leaders

Reality sets in and many of these guys are going to remember this game the rest of their lives. Not a great way to end but what a great chance they had to play against LSU in a packed Stadium. I wonder if McDowell, Kasper will come back. I have to say thanks to all for their efforts and fun. Damn we all hate to lose even the Couch Coaches and Players.

Turned into a laugher now, embarassing, too bad for these kids. Good and going to end on a depressing note. MC has some work to do, Lsu is simply a LOTTTT better team. And what about their weak bull pen? Big questions for next year, losing 90% of the pop that we have now. 90% huh? Get a clue. . . Likely, probably, 4 or 5 of the best hitters, that better?? Reality sucks sometimes, there's your clue!!

What? Forrester & most likely McDowell....who are the other 2 or 3 best hitters we're losing? Kasper maybe? Bazzana, Guerra, Turley, Kane should be coming back, right? Also the talented freshman class from this year, I'd assume at least one of those guys improves. I'm seeing things differently from some other people I guess. This to me seems like a young team with a lot of good players coming back and a lot of potential next year. Bazanna, Guerra maybe are old enough I believe and other than Turley who in the freshman class? I don't follow like some but I'm at a loss as to other freshmen that have had any impact. I hope there are some cause we've shown some serious holes in the lineup.

I know most of the blame is on pitching for allowing 12. But the hitters are 0-11 w/ RISP and failed to get a sac fly twice early in the game. Just a team loss imho

Losing sucks and makes people grumpy. We did a lot of good things this season. Pitching got susceptible to the long ball the last two weekends and that's all anyone's going to remember. Unfortunate, but I love the team we've got coming back next year. Hopefully the pitching stays healthy, because I don't think anyone's going to want to pitch to us in '24.

Oregon State needs a 2022 UCLA-style comeback at this point. For those playing at home, that one started with E5, BB, 1B, HBP, 1B, BB, BB, 2B, 2B, 6-3, and FC to score nine runs with only one out. That would be the way to start the bottom of the ninth.

Just need 10 to win and I can't wait to see the pitchers for the next game. Thorsteinson to throw a complete game!

They'll be seeing breaking stuff in their sleep for the next two weeks. LSU off speed stuff is what screwed up our hitters. Once Hurd came in our line-up was never the same. Sam Houston, with inferior pitchers copied what LSU did & held us to 3 runs on 6 hits. Only a phenomenal effort by Jimenez saved that game. LSU scouted us well & had the pitchers to cool off our bats.

Seven full-time position players should return for us next season. We are hardly losing 90% of our firepower.
* Travis Bazzana is not draft-eligible. His birthday is 8/28/02. Players in college must be 21 to be eligible for the draft, he will not be.
* Mason Guerra is not draft-eligible. Coincidentally, his birthday is 8/28/02.
* Gavin Turley is not draft-eligible.
* Tanner Smith is not draft-eligible, born on 9/26/2002.
* Brady Kasper is draft-eligible. This was also the first year he started regularly and the first year he had more than 34 at-bats. He'd be a fool not to return, and it's highly unlikely he'd be selected in a 20-round draft.
* Mikey Kane is draft-eligible, but would be a fool to sign, he is not ready for pro ball, and probably won't be drafted anyway.
* Kyle Dernedde is not ready for pro ball, and also won't be drafted anyway.
That's the reality, and it most definitely does not suck.

I hope there are some cause we've shown some serious holes in the lineup. Bazzana is 100% not draft eligible. Guerra appears to also be a true sophomore. The freshmen I'm referring to are Macias, Talt, Peterson, Cedillo (soph actually, but I was thinking of him). Throw in Reeder and Krieg possibly as well. None of these guys have stood out this year, but have all shown flashes in limited opportunities. I'm counting on more player developement (which I've seen plenty of with this coaching staff) and I would be shocked if at least a couple of these guys didn't step up big time. That's also not taking into account any juniors that might want to stay. Also Tanner Smith will be the catcher next year. He has struggled at the plate this year as a whole, but has been clutch on a few occasions. He's only a sophomore as well and could improve a lot going into next year. I'm not guaranteeing anything, but I see reason for optimism given the talent levels of these guys and the player developement I've seen from other guys.
