I think Jimenez is the only one truly done. Sellers would be desperation and Canham/Dorman would get killed for using a guy that threw 119 pitches on Friday. Ferrer only threw 54 pitches yesterday but he was ineffective for the most part and I would be nervous to see him go back out and face LSU again. Brown threw 43 pitches yesterday, I could see him closing out a game if necessary, but I would be nervous about that too. Brown is hard to say. Did he stay warm between games or heat up twice in a day?

It's amazing to me that people are calling for Dormans head after going 2-1 so far in the Baton Rouge regional......and losing by one run to the host.
A little aside that has changed my perspective...
My son is now in travel ball. There's a lot of pressure. It's a grind from the get-go. All these coaches, and players have lived that grind, and at a VERY high level.
I've learned as a fan, I need to, just like our guys, keep a level head no matter the roller coaster ride. In fact, that is THE single most important thing about baseball. We preach it to our boys as well.
And we all know how our program has lived that "trust the process" "flush it away". "keep grinding".....whatever you want to call it.
I still maintain that our program is in the best hands it could be in. Casey's fingerprints continue to be all over this thing.......we can split hairs about the pitching coach, but I will trust that Canham has the program heading in the right direction.

We were picked to finish 3rd in the conference in the preseason. We were outside the top 25 in most of the preseason polls....and yet here we are in a regional final again, just like we have been every year under this coaching staff.
I think our coaching staff is doing a pretty good job.
LSU has played 60 games this year. They scored six or more runs in better than 75% of those games. SHSU played 64 games this year. They scored more than 2 runs in more than 90% of those games. We held them to 2 or fewer TWICE.
This idea that the pitching has been "bad" or that the staff is doing something wrong is baffling to me.
We have a good f'ing baseball team. Appreciate it.

Also strange that we are criticizing him when he's down 2 weekend starters and a reliever from what he thought he had at the start of the year.

I can't criticize the man, given that we are seeing some young arms step up. Obviously, he is helping them improve.

Good ole Late Nate's boys got lit up like a July 4th firecracker last night.
We've allowed a total of 9 runs in three regional games. That's pretty solid. Somehow a pitching coach who is "terrible," according to one especially fervent critic, has cobbled together a staff that has won 41 games. We lost big bats in Meckler, Melton, Boyd and Logan but now have a balanced, productive offense with almost seven guys with 10 or more homers. They re-invented Turley.
They've done an excellent job this season.

With the recruiting, and development we are seeing, we should be happy as fans

Who is starting today? Dorman? If Dorman does start, he'll take himself out after throwing a single inning and striking out the side. Seriously, Mitch needs to find himself another pitching coach. Dorman is in over his head. You sir are entitled to your opinion, no matter how wrong it is.(or how much Canham, myself, and a slew of other people feel.)
