Who knows what kind of day OSU bats will have, or Floyd (if it is him?), but he is a top 100, maybe Day 1, draft type kid. He has a tiny BAA of .195 this season. The scouting report has him a bit wilder (12 HBP) this season as he has added pitches to his repertoire. But, has a 3:1 K:BB ratio for his career. At this point he is not dominate, but this is his first season as a regular starter. He also has a plus pickoff move and a fairly quick delivery time.
Bottom line Floyd will be one of the best pitchers OSU has faced in 2023. But, it's the postseason, these are the guys on the bump you have to beat.

Floyd graduated from Rockmart, Georgia HS in 2020. He was ranked #2 overall in Georgia by Rawlings-Perfect game and #3 overall by Prep Baseball Report. Both scouting sites ranked him as the best RHP in Georgia that year. Here is a scouting report from 2019.
Ty Floyd is a 2020 RHP/3B with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Rockmart, GA who attends Rockmart. Slender athletic build, very projectable physically. Compact and very quick arm action, hides the ball very effectively, hard upper body rotation drives the arm speed, very loose and extended out front. Low 90's fastball, topped out at 94 mph, maintained his velocity well, ball gets on the hitters quickly. Mid-70's curveball, best feel and command of it at lower velocities, can develop more power on the pitch in the future but is an effective pitch now. Rare change up but got a routine ground ball out with one. Filled up the zone and had two easy innings. Showed his athleticism very well defensively in the middle infield, works side to side very smoothly with good footwork and soft hands and a quick release. Definite two-way potential in college. Right handed hitter, hits from a wide base with an easy tension free swing, quick hands with a short path to the ball, consistent pull side line drive contact. Very good student, verbal commitment to Louisiana State.
