78 runs scored in last 5 games. Yes, last FIVE games. Beavs have scored 'only' 73 runs in the last 5 games....oh, and the Beavs have 'just' 5 guys with 10+ HR. Conclusion: Beavs lose by 1.

They can hit, but the level pitching goes up a notch in the Pac 12 vs the WAC...... theoretically, we should be able to cool their bats down, and our hitters should feast on WAC pitching.....but it's baseball.....and we are kinda limping into this tournament, so who knows.

Midweek games are not a great gauge for anything really though. Sort of now since OSU's down to one weekend starter!?

Yeah... the off season development and the in season experience will tell what they've "earned". At this point in a season it's now only placing names on the lineup card and substitutions!?

One area MC could stand to improve IMHO is the tactical use of challenges. That said, the overturned on field call after challenge, which was followed by MC requesting a review of the review and winning the challenge at ASU was the pinnacle of all challenges. If you graphed GT's playing time and statistical results from start of conference play to end, you'd see a pretty strong case for in season player development and improvement.

My first reaction is to be annoyed that the Beavers are being overlooked, but I think it's pretty fair. As a Beaver fan, I'm optimistic that the pitching will be much better in the regional than it has been lately. My only justification for that optimism is that I'm a fan of this team. If I were looking at another random team who has looked as bad as the Beavers have in the last couple of games, I'd certainly write them off as well. Hopefully the good version of the team shows up and surprises a lot of people.

That said, coming into a regional playing poorly often translates to poor play in the regional.....and often the opposite is true...go in hot, continue hot. Momentum and all that......bottomline, we will need to be much better, especially on the bump.

Sounds like Arizona. Without really good Pitching can we routinely rack up 12-15 runs a game? As they used to say Hit for Show, Pitch for Dough.
