I think I would take Kentucky weather to play in instead of Coral Gables. Starts next Saturday, temp in the mid '80's and humidity in the 70's. A little harder to get the HR ball out of the park? Small ball anyone?  |

McNeese State* 2. Oregon State 3. Dallas Baptist* Idiots we're off on the 4 seed. I would expect D1 baseball to be fairly accurate since they are pretty heavy SEC homers. Just like ESPN rankings in football and basketball there is plenty of home cooking to boost the brand. |

D1 Baseball now projects us as the two seed in Nashville against #6 national seed Vandy. as a D-1 subscriber I am unable find that Nashville #2 seed projection. It's still Cora Gables #2 on the most recent D-1 BB 'guess' that I can see. I think D-1 is pretty good at projecting hosts, and the field of 64 itself. The actual regional assignments seem to not be all that accurate. |

Jay Uhlman was an asst coach for the ducks for several years under Horton. Became an asst at Tulane when George retired, then their head coach at the end of last season. 19-40 going into the American Conf tourney. Now the Green Wave are automatic qualifiers for the NCAA tourney by winning the conference…..

That was also the last time that Tulane won a Regional and Super Regional. Tulane was Oregon State's first opponent in the 2005 College World Series. Tulane won 3-1. And Oregon State was eliminated in a 4-3 loss to Baylor. Tulane lost to eventual National Champion Texas 5-0, but rebounded to go up 7-0 on Baylor. However, the Bears scored eight runs over the final three innings for an 8-7 win. Hurricane Katrina hit less than 10 weeks later and put Tulane in a hole that they apparently just now starting to crawl out of. |
