Why was Ferrer tapped to finish the game? Any ideas? Best reliever, who is not Brown. Ferrer to close it down. Warm up Brown, if need be. Eight pitches. Great. Ferrer could throw full basically tomorrow. But he gets two days off to rest up. We used three of our four best relievers with Ferrer throwing the least. I'd be more stressed out about Mejia's use. irimiIt may be that Mitchy Slick saw that zone in the fourth inning and determined that he was going to quit messing around and bring out his big guns and win the game. And he did. At about that time, Parker started talking about Warren G. Harding's 1920 "return to normalcy" campaign slogan. And damned if Parker did not hit the nail on the head. A lot of these midweek games, coaches try to get too cute and work to develop second-tier pitching. And Mitchy Slick, instead, just brought in all of his best relievers and won the thing. Good strategy. It worked out great.

Not sure what the batter or dugout said but Benny waved goodbye to them after that last strikeout it looked like. Anyone get a better view or hear what was said? Sitting above the ‘ucks dugout after the last K, we were all goin’ crazy! Benny looked our way and gave a salute. Was it aimed at us Beav fans in recognition, or at the ‘ucks dugout? Only his hairdresser knows for sure. But it was cool!
