On the bench. He needs to learn to hit off speed pitches or that will be his home for the year. Here's my question: why wasn't this noticed or worked on in fall ball? Are our pitchers incapable of throwing curve balls? Isn't it a little late to start fixing a swing? That would imply you can fix the swing he has used for years in fall ball. I may be wrong but the majority of cage time is against a machine right?

Are our pitchers incapable of throwing curve balls? Isn't it a little late to start fixing a swing? I have the same questions. So I figure it isn't hitting that is keeping him on the bench. I suspect it's more of a mental thing and adjusting to the more difficult level of play. He is, after all, a freshman. He needs to be able to handle the mental game and I suspect that even if you are skilled, very few freshmen come ready to handle the pressure of top-level collegiate baseball. We know he has the skills to be a great player. Let's trust the coaches in developing and molding him into a great Beaver ballplayer.

Cheap ones will throw a curve. Sophisticated ones can throw more junk. I suspect we have pretty good machines. I think it's gotta be mental/confidence. Otherwise, you'd have him in there working through it.

A quick hundred thousand dollar bet on Barney being the first base coach for the majority of games? You’re on…you’re on I was at 2 WSU games in 1st row on 1st base line and Darwin only did 1 inning in the two games and talked to fans about doing it to change things up....

We know the department is pretty tight lipped about injuries, so who knows. I was surprised he didn’t play in the Portland game.

Turley replaced Kasper in the seventh on Sunday against Stanford but has not played in the last two games.

I couple of comments. We still KO far to often. Time to have everyone Bunt with bases loaded? Considering the at bat production we get out of RF Turley's Arm is worth the start.

Yes it's definitely mental too. He will get it figured out, just needs some time.

But we know the hitters all were in agreement that Sellers is our toughest pitcher to get a hit off, so they have some experience with our pitchers. Gotta be injury or mental. Either way, he’ll be back.

As long as they can bunt down the line allowing the runner from third to score before the pitcher tosses the ball to the catcher for a force out.

Too many dumb or lack of baseball intelligence plays. Micah getting hit by the batted ball, Mikey trying to get to second on the throw to third, Mason not getting behind the ball to make the throw home instead catching it low opposite throwing arm. Team is not good enough to consistently overcome those kind of things.
