Surprised Sac State didn't offer Xavi the job. Or maybe they did and he turned it down. He is married to a woman from Corvallis and by all accounts is a great guy.
I don't think UDub was ever going to hire a male head coach for WBB. Texas is a different kettle of fish.

Btw, I am agreeing with you on the other post you made here. Others dwelling on it, not you. Your points are well made. Just have to ask here why worry about former players going to Texas in the post above? I bet the better freshmen players don’t even know who Campbell is? And it is TCU Worry? I’m not worried. Wouldn’t surprise me to see former players who transferred elsewhere to get away from KG do their grad year at TCU. Campbell is taking Xavi Lopez & Minyon Moore with him so still quite a connection to the ducks. Campbell & Lopez were the main recruiters during their time at uo and could very well have been involved in early recruiting of current freshmen, as well as recruiting of other current players. And nothing has changed that caused so many players to leave the past 2 years. I know portal rules have changed, but still, if you hate your coach… Just saying….. I guess. Glad our house is in order the last couple of years while we all sit here and watch March madness

As to our transferred players:
With Jones, Brown, Kampschroeder and Smith, I got the impression they were transferring because they (or those who influence them, i e parents) felt OSU's "system" was inhibiting their game and preventing them from being as good a player as they could be.
Looking at their stats this year under completely different coaching staffs, it's pretty apparent that wasn't true at all. Their numbers either stayed the same or declined and they pretty much were the same players at Duke, Michigan and WVU as they were at OSU. They are who they are and different coaches aren't going to transform them into significantly better players.
Corsdale fell off the face of the Earth and was a non-factor. And she left for completely different reasons, after five years she was ready (and probably needed) a change of scenery.
I wish them well, but don't spend any time wondering "what if." They didn't want to be here. The current players clearly do, and that's who I'd stake our future on.

I can’t think of a single player that left and did markedly better in another system, I can only think of those that did similar and lots that did much worse. The evidence is pretty strong that you reveal who you are in Rueck’s system, and some are able to get remarkably better over time within it.
