From that picture, it looks like they may have amputated her left leg. Glad to see the surgery is getting done now. Not sure what the recovery period is, but I expect we'll see a better/stronger TVO next season.

That sure looks like an ACL surgery, having seen one up close and personal. You can see the hose and blue bag for the icing machine that helps keep down the swelling.

I've not had any of mine recently, but that looks to be more than meniscus issues. Which from her comments on mobility and still playing seemed reasonable. I thought others here mentioned foot issue?? But, if an ACL or other ligament tears I'm not sure why she was allowed to play without at least a brace?? Of course it could have been more minor and they discovered more damage? Wishing her a speedy but safe full recovery!

It was good to see in the comments to TVO's post the best wishes from Taya Corosdale. Also good to note that she lists herself as an Oregon State alum.
All the best to Talia. We look forward to seeing you back next season.

It seems as if she aggravated her injury to a much higher degree or possibly added injury because the area was already weakened. Or it's a different injury altogether. She did comment about losing her mobility right around the time she decided to shut it down for the season and she definitely did not look the same the last week or so before shutting it down.

They use the icing machine on all sorts of surgeries. Both of my parents had one after knee replacements. I had one all three times I had knee surgery, first to rebuild my knee (acl, mcl, and patella tendon),then to remove the last of the meniscus, and then to rebuild it again (if they have to go in again it's a replacement). So I wouldn't jump straight to acl surgery.

I am no surgeon but I just don't believe you're wearing a brace like that for meniscus surgery. I didn't in 1971 (it was just wrapped) and you sure don't in 2023. She didn't have a knee replacement. I'm still going with an ACL. Looks way too familiar. I hope I am wrong. I fear I am not.

Just that the ice setup is used for all kinds of knee surgeries. I'm sure it is also used for other injures. Did you hear that she had a meniscus issue? Just curious because I haven't read anything about it. It would be nice to know what the prognosis is, will she be back next year?

You really think a bunch of jabronis on a message board deserve her medical prognosis? Wow.

8 weeks recovery vs 9 to 18 months is very good news. Makes sense that she could play at all with it and that she wasn't on crutches. Thanks for the information beav74.

Talia is a picture of positivity. I’m glad she’s a Beaver and hope she makes a speedy recovery.

It certainly explains the loss of her shooting touch. Successful jump shots require healthy legs ... at least in non-wheelies.
