Often looked over win but with GB, Chiles and DJ our defense is going to be getting reps against solid QBs.
I thought BG, Chance and Gebbia were solid for defensive development but this might be even better.

Not too much change but Rawls and Sio both dropping some weight and Saluni and Hickle gaining weight is good to see. Rawls played really well last year in the low 280 range so I'm happy to see him stay there. When's the last time our smallest OL was 275?!?! Our OL room might need two busses or the suspension will fail.

It looks like some good gains on the O-Line with Brewer going from 297 up to 312, Bloomfield from 306 to 315 and Gray from 288 to 305. Sio being listed at 350 lbs last year, coming down to 332 should be a good thing. And of course Martinez gaining 15 lbs and suppose to be faster than last year! Also noticed that freshman WR Montrel Hatten is listed at 5' 11" and a solid 206 lbs. Spring practice should be fun.

Nope and the portal is closed until May 1-15.

Now, he has not landed anywhere yet. Reports say he's being very selective.

Weird that he is intentionally missing out on some schools spring practice, and the opportunity to spend several weeks learning a new system. Maybe he thinks some schools number 1 qb will be hurt in spring reps and he will find a spot to slide in??? Seems crazy.

Travis Throckmorton went from 187 in 2022 to 205 in 2023. Fenwick is up 5 lbs. DB Joe Swen went from 180 to 195 lbs Kord Shaw went from 210 to 224 Dom Montiel went from 198 to 209 (gained 8 lbs and is a walk-on. impressive) DB Carlos Mack Jr. went from 195 to 206 DB Skyler Thomas has gained 8 lbs John Miller went from 224 to 232 lbs DB Jhae Drummer went from 187 to 200 lbs
There are a lot of others who are either +/- a few pounds, staying the same, or gaining 4-15 lbs. These guys are definitely getting their bodies ready to compete. Great to see this years R-FR class almost all gain 8+ lbs from a year ago. Means they're coming in lean and hopefully gaining muscle in the process.

Means they're coming in lean and hopefully gaining muscle in the process. You'll see alot more change in the fall roster. Most programs will bring up players weights before the season and work on speed, explosiveness and lean mass in the spring and early summer. It's easier to work those systems with less mass then maintain them while bulking in the late summer and fall. Each guy will also have a personalized program based on what they need to compete. For instance John Miller is running light for an ILB so he is bulking hard right now and will settle around 230. Most athletes in power sports will lose mass during the playing season even at the professional level. I'm most familiar with professional throwers on track. On Olympic years it's normal for them too skip all to half of diamond league season if they are expecting to be podium contenders at the Olympics. This allows them to stay on schedule with nutrition and strength programs so they are top of their game come competition time. The one Olympic shot putter I personally know loses 20 lbs over the course of a typical diamond season. It's mostly just from not being able to maintain mass while traveling and taking rest days for competition. His prime competition weight is about 320 but his comfortable walking around weight is 265-270.

Both college football and the NFL have shorter windows. Luckily I had a long window, hopefully he doesn’t miss his.

Maybe he thinks some schools number 1 qb will be hurt in spring reps and he will find a spot to slide in??? Seems crazy. If he is transferring to a semester school, he can't go there until summer and would miss spring practice anyway. This isn't high school, you can't enroll someplace halfway through a semester. If he wanted to compete in spring practice, he needed to find someplace over Christmas. I suspect the market for his services isn't as strong as he thought it would be.
