Hunter’s stuff (FB - 87-89) will not play consistently in the Pac 12, at best he can be a Tuesday guy. I file his last start to even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while. I hope I’m wrong but I think the beavers are in trouble if he is throwing meaningful weekend innings

If you can change speeds and locate, you can make it with lower velocity. You also need good secondary pitches. Fehmel, Nickerson, Moore etc... were all in that range.

He had a very very good game against Auburn.

Hunter basically throws his fastball as a setup pitch, so it does not really matter. Plus, check out his GO/AO. The beauty of Hunter is that, when he is on, his stuff tends to play down. Kmatz' stuff tends to play up, even when he is at his best. The real issue with the staff is at the front end, though. Sellers gives me a '21 Abel vibe. He is trying too hard to be perfect, when pretty good would probably work better for everyone.

Needs to trust his D a little more to make the plays. That will allow him to go deeper into the games.
