Daschel reported Roberts is coming back as a grad assistant defensive coach.
I like seeing our kids move into coaching careers after their playing days are over.

He was an awesome tackler. One of the best.

Can't think of any beav on the defensive side, who had a better nose for the football than AR. Always was around the football. Can't believe he won't pass that know-how on to our kids. Great addition.

For a guy that had a ton of tackles in his college career and seemed to have all the physical talents and capabilities, was a leader, Pac-12 firs team twice, etc. He sure didn't get much of a shot in the NFL. Spent last year as a UDFA signing with the Seahawks and then played in the USFL. Anyone know why the pros didn't give him more than a passing glance? Maybe he doesn't want to pursue playing any longer? Regardless I am glad he is back on the Beavs sideline

It seems once you get labeled as slow on running straight ahead, even if your shuttle times are good to great, you don't get much of a look. Edit: looks like Judge beat me to it.

Coincidently, the same reason Bray didn't get a shot.

Great addition. Hes right there with Bray, Barnett and Seigler. I'm to young to have seen Brown, Tongue or Schneider but my Dad always compares players to them. I'd put Omar on that list too, specially his first two seasons. Looking at the single season tackle record #10 Nick Barnet (121), #9 Trent Bray (122) and #8 Avery Roberts (123). Ridiculous hahaha
