Gill underwent a major renovation that was finished I believe around 2016. There's is nothing inside Gill that is outdated or smelly, etc. The look of the building from the outside has little to no effect on recruiting. And you've avoided addressing the high level practice facility.

The new lighting and video board were done a couple years ago.
As for replacing Gill because OSU is losing recruits because of it is humorous. Many of the women recruits, don't keep up with the men, say they like the confines of Gill.

What's next? Transfer Portal. Best players on this year's OSU team follow the lead of Jones, Brown, and Kampschroeder from last season and end up on a much better team (aka. Texas, Duke, and Michigan) with good to great prospects for next years' league championships and good seatings in next year's NCAA Tournament. Can't say I blame them. Easy to make a big upgrade in coaching staff, prestige, facilities,... OSU might have a player or two leave but I don't think we're going to see a repeat of the Jones, Brown and Kampschroeder jump. Upgrade in coaching staff is debatable, but I think OSU still retains prestige (for now) and have you seen the basketball facility? I seriously doubt it pales in comparison to any other women's basketball facility in the country and is definitely better than many. By "prestige" I was mainly referring to overall academic/institutional rating/ranking, for example, USnews.com Duke No. 10 University of Michigan No. 25 University of Texas No. 38 Oregon State University No. 151

I hope that post was a joke. It was to me. I expect this frosh class to stay together. Scott hasn't forgotten how to coach. The Michigan coach has been on the job 10 years just like Scott. 50 less wins. The Duke coach has been on the job three years. Texas has a better NIL program than osu. Just ask the portal girl who visited osu and Texas last summer. NIL was a huge part of her decision to attend Texas. Laughable to assume these freshman girls are going to enter the portal....unless you know them personally.

So what you're saying is it really comes down to whether or not those players stay. That remains to be seen, but they had a chance to go to schools that have better academic/instituational rankings according to USnews, com in the first place.

Did any of you listen to the post game show last night. To me,I get the feeling this frosh class stays together. 5 players who always competed, when they played.

Duke did nothing to the actually basketball arena in that remodel. The arena itself is very comparable to Gill. They just added luxury amenities outside the actual arena.

Rueck's statement was guarded for obvious reasons but he said this team feels "normal" as in like before Covid and the portal. He says he only lost 4 players in that time. He is expecting everyone to return. I don't know if that extends to Jalena. I think this team feels like it has unfinished business. Also, Adlee was injured and not able to practice until October. Not sure the total but there were a lot of preseason injuries that set the Beavers behind on development. Now if only Jalena would decide to stay and we get a couple players out of the portal the Beavs will be a handful. One last thing, Rueck in reference to Adlee, said she has the handles and vision to be a point guard. Maybe a bit of foreshadowing?

I think the whole Adlee to point guard thing isn't going to happen but it definitely is in line with Rueck's history with point guards. But I don't think she is quite quick enough to play the position. She is a very good and potentially great 2.

When is the last time you were in Gill, 2010? Kampschroeder is barely playing at Michigan, she got five whole minutes last night. She's closer to home but maybe the grass wasn't greener.

If they stay together, there is no reason we couldn't see some winning basketball like osu WBB has been accustomed to for most of the Rueck tenure. I trust Beav74 in his comments about no talk about this frosh class entering the portal, knowing his connections to the osu staff. Of course things could change in the future, but to automatically assume players are leaving is silly to me. Not questioning your comments. Osu doesn't necessarily need a point guard per se imo. I just think this group needs more experience facing pressure full court and not turning the ball over. Take care of the ball and run the offense. No Adlee isn't a Jordin Canada type, but can handle the ball well. Maybe a combo guard?

SR quotes on next season
What confidence does Rueck have that OSU’s roster largely stays intact for the 2023-24 season? Rueck’s sense is this team is much like his teams before the pandemic, when he says he lost four transfers over 23 years.
“But, anything’s possible,” Rueck said. “In this day and age, I show up and I work with what I’ve got and do my best every single day. Whatever happens, happens. My hope is obviously everyone stays. I love this team.”

Have you even been in Gill recently? Doesn't sound like it. USNWR rankings are meaningless.
