In the absence of Ferrer and Mundt I like starting Rhett Larson on Thursday. Kid is a Junior, so more physically mature and has more experience post H.S. Let's be honest folks, with the exception of Brown and Hutchinson... our pitching is very hittable. This pitching staff needs solid Defense behind them and even that has been a question mark on this young season. I expect us to take care of teams that are not Pac 12 or Tournament teams but when the competition steps up... we need Ferrer and I'd eve say Lattery to step up in big ways. I'm behind this team but just being honest out of what I've seen against mediocre hitting teams so far. Fingers crossed Larson can be one of the answers to the puzzle on Thursday! I think Carter mentioned that Mundt is likely out until April in one of their BeaverBlitz podcasts.

Not sure what the deal is with Grewe either. You have to assume he improved, since he made the cut, but hes the only guy who hasn't taken the mound yet who hasn't been reported as injured or sick. Out of high school he projected as a starter.

No one mentioned it, but I will.
The last three times that Oregon State went .500 or better against Cal Poly, the Beavers won a National Championship.
Oregon State went 2-0 against Cal Poly in 2006, 3-0 in 2007, and 1-0 in 2018. 2006 was in Corvallis, 2007 was in San Luis Obispo, and 2018 was in Surprise.
Oregon State went 1-2 in Corvallis in 2015 and did not escape the Dallas Regional.
Oregon State went 1-1 in 1977, one game at Azusa and one in San Luis Obispo.
The 1969 meeting in San Luis Obispo ended in a tie.
