Game 2 after beating USC Vs. Colorado They beat Beavs 48-67 - Play your best basket ball in March - yes please!!
If they get past the Buffs, we'll discuss at length I suspect.

They have every chance to win against usc and probably match up best with Colorado.
Let's hope they can go on a run

I still thinking it’s weirder to think of Zona before Barnes got there, they were awful.

The re-stacking of the order in the Pac-12 is - dare I say - normal? Every team in the conference has had years in the bottom half and years in the top half. Stanford being the exception.
Think of what folks might have said about Beavers in their ascent to the top... followed by the Ducks... then Stanford retaking the top.
Being at the bottom of this conference isn't fun as a fan - and I can only imagine not fun for the team. But we get to cheer for a team that has grit and plays some great basketball. And for all the 'Negative Nellies' that will rant about things - just stop for a minute and soak in we have D1 Power-5 team that is rebuilding and just might be on the rise again.
GO BEAVS!

All right Beaver basketball experts!
We all know that the USC team (and probably every other team that we play if we are fortunate enough to advance in the tournament) are going to sag way off Bendu and basically dare her to shoot outside shoot.s
I think we would all also agree that we need her on the court for defense, rebounding,etc.,etc.
What strategies do you believe the Beavs could use to counter the "sagging off". Yes, I know, make shots! However I am hoping for more answers.
Go Beavs!

Keep playing Adlee Blacklock for sure and Hansford and Marotte as well if they are hitting their shots...Adlee's shooting in the last two games has all but solved the problem and Marotte has done well in fewer minutes.. Bendu doesn't have to hit a lot of perimeter shots, but they need threats out there, which they've had the past two games.

Pac12 network announcers are not giving OSU any respect. They are saying that usc has a good chance of making it to the semi's. I hope our players hear that and it fires them up. Now if we can just avoid the barlow crew.

The Beavs have not done much to earn respect in the past 6 weeks.... I, personally, give them little respect, and I'm a long time fan and an annual donor to the program.
Until yesterday they had lost 11 of their last 12 conference games. They have consistently blown substantial leads; they have melted down in the 4th quarter time after time. They have lost enough games at Gill that it is starting to lose its well-earned reputation as a killer venue for visiting teams...
I have not seen Vegas odds, but there's no way anyone is gonna pick OSU in game one, or if they make it, game two.
When the Beavs begin to play like a real team that knows what it's doing, and wins some games in the process, they will get respect. Until then, not so much. GO BEAVS!!

Very logical and reasoned. I, like all Beav fans, was very happy that they won yesterday. That fact, in now way, refutes anything that you so clearly laid out.
Go Beavs!

I personally have a lot of respect for this team. Even when things weren't going their way and losing games they just couldn't close out. They never gave up, it would have been so easy for them to just call in the rest of the season. They also stuck together as a team. I may have missed it but I don't think I saw them get chippy with each other even in the worst times. To me it looked like they were putting that energy into bonding and getting closer.

believeinthebeavs - - there is a big difference between respecting the players on the team, appreciating their dedication to one another, and admiring their personal qualities as teammates and decent human beings - - and respecting them collectively as a basketball team that plays the game with skill and precision and aptitude.
My comments in a earlier post were in regard to the team as a basketball team.....
I assume that most university teams are made of up decent kids, hard working athletes, dedicated comrades in their fidelity to one another, players who love their team and their university... Athletes who work hard to make their team better....Hell, that's pretty much a given.
Every team I ever coached was filled with players of dedication, team spirit and love for the game.... That's a given. It's not exceptional, it's the norm....
Almost all players, in my experience, are that way. They all possess admirable qualities of dedication and perseverance. Do you, even for a minute, think the players at WSU or Utah have less of these human qualities than the players on our roster?
Respect for a basketball team, for me, means respect for how the team plays the game, executes the game, finishes the game, plays defense, runs the offence, outplays their opponent, executes assignments, makes the shots they have worked on all week, breaks a press when they run into one, and apply a press when they need one.
It's a given that you respect, even admire the players who play the game. I know I do.
But that's totally different from respecting the team's ability to play the game of basketball at a proper level...
Thus far this year's team has earned very little respect at playing the game at a high level - hell, even a mid-high level. The player's on the team, and the respect they deserve as quality people - that's a totally different story from the respect they have earned, as a team, and how well they play the game.
That's it. Over and out....GO BEAVS!!

I just wrote my opinion. I respect them and their game for the reasons stated. There is a lot more to the game than the final score, key word is game. I'm an optimist, it is much nicer to find good things in life/game than to be all pissed off because the team didn't put the ball into the basket enough.
I'm sure players from other teams are of high character too. I've never said they weren't, well except certain players wearing yellow and green.
If you don't like my opinion feel free to use the ignore feature and you won't even have to see my posts.

Over and out....GO BEAVS!! ... On every team being wonderful. Oregon had to hire a counselor to get them to play nice with each other. I'd say Gottlieb's major accomplishment is to have gotten USC players to get along with each other. Maryland is notorious for playing good basketball and ending up hating each other. So I will have to disagree with how all teams are the same. And on how OSU is a terrible team, it's complicated. There are teams in the top 25 who have NO wins against top 25 teams. OSU has three wins. OSU has one major problem, when they get to the end of a game their nerves blow up.
