Missed the game today, but I have a few minor questions:
1. was Talia on the bench in uniform? Street clothes? 2. what was today's attendance 3. was anything "special" done for Mit today on Senior's Day. ----------------- A few minor observations:
1. Someone posted that the win today would be good for the team going forward - I agree. But importantly, it's also a very big win for Beaver Fans and donors going forward. The Beavs have given their faithful fans virtually nothing to cheer about this season...Beating Arizona at Gill is Big and fans will remember it when it comes time to renew season tickets, and to re-up their Rebounder's Row contributions...
2. Zona's Lost weekend in Oregon is a reminder that good teams with good coaches can play poorly and not deliver at crunch time. So, it's not a totally Beaver trhing even though it seems like it this season!!
3. Beers is pretty much in a class of her own in the paint. The Beavs have never had anyone like her.
4. Blacklock looks like a shooter - but what's her floor speed like? Those who watched her live today, I'd be interested in what you have to say.
Thanks in advance for your comments and insights..... GO BEAVS!!

GO BEAVS!! I wasn't there today but still watched the game and the others this season. This is a weird season for the women's game. With the exception of South Carolina, every team can and has had bad losses, ones they shouldn't have lost. Beers is definitely in a class of her own, best freshman post for the Beavers in the Rueck era. A solid argument could be made the best freshman ever at OSU. She is a great player to build a team around. Humble and does all the little things. Adlee is plenty fast and reasonably quick, I made the comment after her first couple games that she is a bundle of energy out there. Just bouncing all over. Even so she rarely got beat. I figured it would take a year or maybe two for her to find the rhythm of college ball. A half dozen games ago things started to click for her on defense. Turns out she is a quick study. Career high scoring in 3 of the last 4 games. The other thing about her is her strength, she is stronger than most guards out there.

Took a friend to the game who had never seen the WBB Team play, and he kept referring to Adlee as "Larry Bird's Daughter". He thought Adlee could do it all. And she did. Made a couple amazing quick passes that resulted in buckets and Adlee never hesitates to let the ball fly. Made an amazing step back turnaround shot to beat the shot clock. Adlee was on fire.

If Adlee were to meet and ultimately marry Adley Rutschman, she’d be Adlee Rutschman.

Very encouraged to read the upbeat comments about Adlee's game.....I haven't seen her live so my main concern is whether she is what some call "shooter only." Glad to hear that she has much more to her game than a good shot and quick release.....
In my mind, this immediately makes her the first option at a starting guard next season....Unless a very impressive guard squeezes in thru the portal.....
In a post above believeinthebeavs commented on Beers and her great possibilities as a future OSU great..... Gotta agree with that. For perspective, Jelena got her 7th career double-double in the Arizona game.....Beers eclipsed that mark part way thru her Frosh season..... GO BEAVS!!

BTW. There are some schools that choose to hold their senior day ceremonies after the last home game rather than before. The contention being that the emotions of senior day can be a distraction to the team.
I like the way OSU does it. And certainly yesterday it was no “distraction” whatever.

Cool stat. Adlee Blacklock. 3-pt shooting 28-60 46.7% Also worth noting that this leads the Pac-12. Not enough attempts to be included in NCAA statistics.

Does anyone have information, speculation, sheer guesswork, as to why Adlee was not playing a lot more during most of the year than she was?
Injury recovery perhaps or ?.

She wasn't there defensively. That is what Rueck said.

She wasn't there defensively. That is what Rueck said. I think Rueck was being kind. Adlee was very tentative at the beginning of the season. The aggressiveness we see now didn't exist. Anxieties from coming back from the injury maybe. Very different player now.

Adlee the last 8 games: 148 minutes played (18.5 per game) .542FG%, .576 3Pt%, 9.6ppg.
Some have said she could play the role Kat Tudor played while here. I don't know. They both can shoot. There is no doubt about that. Adlee has that super quick release that should really pay benefits in the years to come.
Kat averaged 13mpg her freshman year, same as Adlee, but Kat played in every game. Adlee only played in 22 games. Kat averaged 4.8ppg as a freshman. 12ppg as a sophomore.
It's not fair to compare the final 8 games of Kat's freshman year to Adlee's because Kat's final 8 games were mostly NCCA and Pac12 tournament games, and coach didn't play her many minutes during that time. Just for the record though Kat shot 3-17 those last 8 games, and 0-9 the last six games. She was ready her sophomore season though. From what I've seen these last 8 games, I think Adlee will be ready as a sophomore as well.
