Cool stat Raegan Beers 10/11 FT. And she earned those FT's. I've never seen a player, let alone a freshman, completely turn free throw shooting around in a season. She said she realized she needed to improve and she was able to do it.

Well blow my nose! I wouldn’t have guessed that outcome in 1000 tries. Props to the players for a great win.

Great game to end the regular season. I really hope all of our freshmen stay, I think there is a decent chance they will. Who wouldn't want to play with Reagan, one of if not the best freshman post in the country. I really hope that Jalena stays but that's a long shot. She's been here 4 years and has her degree. I can't blame her for going back home, I'm sure she will find a home on some European team. I know she never became a dominate type player w/ her height, but the bottom line is this is a better team w/ her on it than not. I too hope she stays and agree we are a better team with her. She says she's undecided and I'm thinking one reason might be because her best friend on the team Noelle is leaving to try pro ball overseas and JM probably would like to go with her. Hopefully today's win and all the love she is getting from her teammates might sway her decision a little bit towards staying!

Yes, if anyone has an answer to this, please let us know. If healthy, she should have been on the floor many more minutes than seven. Gardiner is not quick enough to handle speedsters like ASU and AZ has on the wings. ASU wings repeatedly blew by her 2 days ago for short pull up jumpers. A zone would have helped her but you still need speed to cover the gaps. Otherwise she is a wonderful offensive multiposition force with the best stepthru move in the paint since Gulich.
This is probably true....though this is the first game in a long time in which Rueck locked on to five players for most of the game. He went with the "twin towers" lineup a lot with Mit and Beers, along with Bendu, Mannen and Blacklock. Mit and Beers were great. Blacklock played so well that he couldn't sit her long. Yeaney and Mannen had to play a lot to counter Arizona's speed and then the pressure that came on later in the game. Those reasons alone don't allow for much extra playing time for anyone. And I think Gardiner most likely is still a little behind on the defensive side of the ball in general.

Thanks for your perceptive thoughts! Perhaps it is all from selfish motives (because I think the team is much better with Jelena than without her).
I truly believe that her opportunity to succeed at Pro basketball (overseas or USA) would be hugely enhanced by at one and probably two more years of development at OSU. Her progress has been gradual but steady. Who knows what the ceiling might be!
If she continues to improve at the pace she has (gradual but steady) and becomes stronger physically, an even better shot blocker, and re-bounder pro ball could certainly be in her future.
Obviously however if some team is willing to offer her big $$$ right now she should go.
Go Beavs!

Having Beers in instead of Timea doesn't improve your speed. I think that Beers is currently a much better rebounder, and has learned when and where to do switches on defense. Timea needs an off season to learn all of this stuff. But after she has, look out.

I would say Timea and Reagan are about equal in speed, but Reagan is not being asked to go play wing defense. I am also sure Timea will grow stronger, faster, and more competent in Rueck's defense over time.

Timea is a natural 4 and Raegan is a natural 5. Both can play the others position but not as well as their own. I'm hoping they get to play together a lot.

Two great games by Adlee and Raegan. I believe teams can only nominate one (not sure) for freshman of the week. Which one do you nominate?
Also, player awards for the year are named on Tuesday. I suspect Raegan will win either 6th player of the year, or freshman of the year. I hope that her being in the running for both won't cause a split in votes for her which could cause her to lose both.

I will nominate Adlee----Yes RB had a monster game-24pts/13reb and probably locked up freshman of the year with this effort....but Adlee had back to back career highs this week--14 Thurs. and 22 Sat., and went 8-14 from 3 in the 2 games, and only had 2 TO's in the 2 games! For that I think she deserves the nod for freshman of the week---I hope she wins for her sake and for her family's sake.

60-49...Rueck with a time out(!) to slow UA down... Rueck finally made some great decisions on calling timeouts. They were timely? And OSU came out and played well immediately after the timeouts.
