Think I heard there was some stuff going on earlier in game and umps gave both dugouts warning….. context is everything.

HP Umpire should call both coaches and all umpires to the plate, Explain what is outside the rules and why they will not be ejecting the player but “next game we will”. Don’t affect the rest of the game today. A quality coach would then pull their guy anyway. Kids learn and coaches teach….

Head coach got tossed after the player was tossed. Looking into the whole situation just a little more, it appears that NCAA is trying to prevent the repercussions of taunting through celebratory acts. Some believe that the bat flip toward the opponent's dugout was the key. Or the slashing motion across his chest. Or the celebration at the plate. Or it could be the summation of all three that triggered the ump. At any rate, there is a couple of rule changes that shed a little light on this matter. One says no props can be brought on the field after a HR. Another says to include more unsportsmanlike behavior such as "bat flips near or toward opponents." And a third says that orchestrated activities are unsportsmanlike conduct. It strongly appears that the NCAA is trying to do away with any sort of taunting and/or "rubbing it in their faces" (as the expression goes). Too bad the UW coach hadn't warned the boys beforehand. There are many ways to celebrate a HR that don't involve flipping the bat toward the opponent, slashing movements, or a big reunion on home plate. At least, the Huskies learned early. Hopefully, the Beavs already know this. The Vols antics last year rubbed a lot of folks the wrong way and was probably a hot topic for umps in off season.

Both teams were warned by the umpire earlier in the game...he wasn't ejected based on the home run and circling the bases.

Lots of homers in this series we just finished. No antics. Message has been received. That’s the way it should be. This is on the UW coach.
