Sellers comp is Bryce Femhel. If he hits his spots and pitches backwards he will be fine as a Saturday or Sunday guy. Doesn’t have the stuff to leave balls in the middle of the plate

We were due for one of these openers. Kinda like the Florida football team was due...

Is the domain “ Can Canham “ available ? Asking for a friend You must have looked at Twitter. I swear baseball fans don't understand that seasons are 50+ games and no team has ever gone undefeated. I don't think a team has even gone less than 5 losses in the CWS era. Were going to be fine. We played mostly brand new players today. Lattery was the only proven pitcher we used and he went 1 inning because they want him later in the week. What we found out: Turley can hit it about a mile, Cedillo is a good hitter, McDowell may have actually taken a step, Hutchinson is probably ready for serious work, Sellers is decent but has work to do, Jimenez has good stuff but is still a bit raw, the team needs to clean up errors. I'm pretty bummed that it looks like Dern isn't going to make a step forward. For a great defender he sure makes a lot of errors. Looking forward to see who claims a starting spot and settles down. I can't believe I'm saying it but I really think McDowell is ready to start in the outfield. Final thought, this team has incredible speed.

I'm with you, the K's are nice, but K's are outs like any other, no way he gets through a Pac-12 game pitching like that only giving up 1 R in 3 IP...most simple fact is he gave up 1 run in 3 IP and couldn't go past that and made us bring in the pen early....I'm not impressed by that at all personally. New Mexico is absolutely shelling everyone else though, so maybe that's a good sign on him or else it's something to get worried about. UNM certainly deserved to win, but it had an inordinate amount of seeing-eye singles, chinkers and excuse-me hits. Our defense also did not help, turning at least two outs into dropped popups and badly misplaying a catchable ball in left field. Shelled is the wrong word here, from my observations from the game site. Sellers struggled with command, but he was neigh-unhittable.

Sellers reminded me a bit of Abel his Jr year. Stuff had so much movement he had trouble throwing it for strikes, which allowed batters to sit on fastball. Play in field, while not acceptable could have been in some part playing live game for first time this year, with a swirling wind and fielding on natural instead of field turf.
We are either much better tomorrow or we are not very good.

He was consistently wild high and well off the plate when he missed.

For what is worth this is the first time in years we have not had a lock down Friday night guy. Kmatz should be that guy this year. Pitching has to be a lot better and we should have the guys to get that job done. Won't take long to see if we are re-loading or rebuilding.
