I like where your head is at, going to change it up a bit moving Turley down a little more to let him get comfortable and a couple other tweaks...including sticking with Guerra just cause I want to be stubborn. Was tempted to move Donkey to 3B and Krieg at 1B, woudl really like to get Krieg into lineup

Biggest question marks here for me: is Cedillo an elite enough fielder to play center field, or will we go with McDowell there and have Cedillo or Kasper DH? Speaking of DH, that and 3B seem like very open competitions, and I wouldn't be surprised to see a bunch of guys play those spots this weekend. It's interesting that everyone else here is slotting Wheeler in at DH, I've heard almost no mention of his name from the coaches this offseason--anything in particular that's leading others to that conclusion?

If I remember right, the only time that that did not happen was when Kwan or Madrigal did not start. Malone started the season hitting fifth. Anderson and Nobach would each start based on who was pitching. In any instance, Taylor would usually hit ninth, absent something weird. |

For what it is worth, McDowell should be given a serious shot at Left. I would be looking at a rookie SS. Macias? Then anybody anywhere that can be aggressive and HIT.

Then anybody anywhere that can be aggressive and HIT. 1 game isn't enough to say someone can't hit. Baz and Donk didn't get a hit today and we know damn well they both can. Were going to see alot of crazy lineup the next couple weeks. |

Taylor moved up to eighth for the game, as a result. So, Bailes breaking Malone's swing after the 2018 season moves Malone out of the lineup in 2018? And Malone's "slump" was so bad that he hit leadoff to end the 2019 season? And Malone's character is deficient somehow? I mean, Nobach is a Husky for cripes sake! I could see Malone coming out for Anderson ..................... maybe. But for Nobach? Nobach was a more consistent hitter than Malone, but Malone basically made the season. After dropping the Utah and Arizona series, Malone started his five-game home run streak. He homered in each of the weekend Missouri State and Oregon games, touching off a five-game winning streak, 14-1-1 over the next 16 games. In Omaha, Malone drove in the first run against Washington, scored the game-tying run, drove in the game-tying run after the rain delay after Washington had re-took the lead, and then drove in run #10 on a solo shot. Malone basically accounted for a majority of the first five important runs to erase the three-run deficit, and each of those three runs were scored with two outs. Against North Carolina, Malone's two-out, two-run shot turned an 8-6 lead into a 10-6 lead. Malone's two-out, three-run shot against Mississippi State punched Oregon State's ticket to play Arkansas in the Championship Series. I don't know how serious this all is. But Malone joined Abel, Grenier, Larnach, and Rutschman on the All-College World Series team. Other names showed up bigger and brighter against Arkansas, but Malone played huge parts in three of the four of the wins that set the table for Arkansas. |
