Colorado 68 - Oregon 41 Oregon State 62 - Oregon State 42 The Buffaloes are tough in Boulder. Dang. When was the last time you saw someone hold teams to 42 points and under in back to back games? The last time Oregon State scored fewer than 43 points was when they scored 37 against #9 Utah in Tinkle's first year as coach. #6 Arizona also held Oregon State to 34 earlier in the season in Tucson. Those are the only times that a Tinkle team was held to fewer than 43. And that team went to the Tournament the following year. The last time that Oregon State held two consecutive teams to fewer than 43 points was the first three games of the Ritchie McKay Era in 2000. Oregon State beat Cal State Fullerton and Southern Colorado 68-35 and 91-23, respectively. Oregon State then beat Appalachian State 60-37 in Hilo. The Beavers won the next game against Long Beach State before losing to #19 Oklahoma and completely falling apart. Those four games were all within a week of the 2000 Civil War. Oregon State did not receive the Fiesta Bowl invite until the day after the Beavers fell to 4-2 in basketball. No team has held consecutive teams to fewer than 43 points in the game before or after holding Oregon State to fewer than 43 points until at least some time before the Ritchie McKay Era.

The last time that Oregon State was held to under 43 points in consecutive games was back in a road trip to the Washington schools back in 1996. The Beavers finished 4-23 that year. In the Summer of 1997, California later forfeited both games to Oregon State, because the head coach was aware of $30,000 in payments to Jelani Gardner and some other issues. That improved the Beavers' record to 6-21. Gardner later transferred to Pepperdine, and Gardner's probable NBA career was sidetracked by a newly-discovered kidney disease prior to the NBA Draft.
