No chance to win this one - this ref crew letting Utah get away with murder. We have 3 FTAs on the night against a team described by its own coach as a bunch of linebackers.
That’s especially problematic when you’re the best FT shooting team in the conference and attacking the rim a lot.

Refs were the typical Pac-12 garbage for sure. We really miss getting 15-20 minute from Choi. We have literally zero shotblockers and that hurt us multiple times tonight

It is maddening how many shots we miss at the rim or in the key. They are working hard to get those shots and just can’t finish.
I would bet that our 3 point % is higher than our FG % on close shots.

We may not have won with an actual ref crew, but it would have made for a much more competitive game. They called a jump ball late where we cleanly grabbed the board and 2 Ute defenders fell into into our man and a third grabbed him.

Hard to win games when you shoot 40% from the field. That and the defense disappearing at times.

Pope only got five shots up. That isn't enough. He's the best scorer on the team.
Utah played good defense on him but to have any chance at winning he needed to score in double figures.
I don't want him to jack shots like Lucas did but there has to be a more concerted effort to get him scoring opportunities.
Bilodeau continues to impress.

When you have no inside game and don't drive to the hoop that's what happens. And even when they did drive, Utah was doing a good job of keeping their body in front and staying straight up. I don’t remember seeing many fouls that weren’t called. |

I don't get to watch alot of basketball but I did tune in last night for the last 1/2. We need more big men. I love the youngsters and how hard we are playing.
I see we have signed Marrs, 6-11 but we will only have 2 slots for nexts year so one to fill? I know big men are hard to find and recruit but it is so clear that we are simply undersized and young.
Lastly, the refs can make me turn the channel... almost did last night. Yuk.
