In the interview after the game rc mentioned that Scott was not feeling well and their conversation turned to the team the last couple weeks having an illness going around so that could explain some of the lack luster performances. Tomorrow will tell us a lot. One thing for sure is that there are some very strong players in black and orange. Ms Beers is damn impressive as a true Freshman.

I saw Jelena say something but I guess that doesn't mean she was the one T'd up...really bad call on the block anyway...Nevada playing a high energy game but the amount of contact they've gotten away with against Beers in particular is ridiculous. Not the best officiating crew According to Rueck in the postgame the lady official thought Jelena threw the ball. Jelena did toss the ball back under the basket, however that is the spot where you expect an official to be. She just wasn't looking where she tossed it.

Did not expect this team to win games by out-gunning the opponent, but good to see they can. Now to put both the offense and defense together vs. LSU

Did you mean strong as in good players, or did you mean strong as in physical strength? Speaking of strong, Beers has plenty of physical strength and continues to shine on the court. Averaging 13ppg, and in 10 games has missed 27 free throws. She could be at 15ppg by making 20 of those. I hope that is something she works on in the off season. I said this the other day, but with this young team, it's pretty obvious the growth of this team will be two steps forward and one step backward thru most of the season.

Strong as in physical strength. This team is so young that they will be growing every game. They will lose a few games on the way but I'm hopeful that they will learn to win by the end of the season.

Glad to hear TvO call out their defense needs to be better. Haven't looked at the stats, but we let Nevada take a lot of shots, Nevada made a lot of shots, and many were 3's

They could certainly tighten up the perimeter D, but Nevada was just flat out shooting the ball well and there's only so much you can do. As good as they were, the Beavs were even better on the other end of the floor.

I agree and I like her game! She plays like a veteran and is much more seasoned than most true freshman having been an integral part of the German National Team at multiple levels over the last few years. I think she will continue to get more quality minutes as the season progresses as she gets more comfortable in Coach Rueck's system.

Best part of the broadcast was Ron mentioning Timea would be back soon. Sounds like the time has been selected but he was sworn to secrecy. Probably not tonight, but next game?

Rueck, I think it was Rueck, recently said she took a year between HS and coming to OSU, played on a Pro team so not your average freshman maybe? I may have heard it wrong, did anyone else here that? I can't find definitive info, she is 19 now so....Either way, very comfortable at D1 ball. democratherald.com/corvallis/sports/beavers-sports/osu-notebook-beavers-sign-german-guard-pietsch/article_3b5f5978-e37b-11ec-8715-9b4eeea33d39.htmlFrom OSU page: Before Oregon State: Has been part of the German National Team system at multiple levels Competed in the 2019 FIBA U16 European Championships, averaging 8.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per contest at the event. Played for Freiburg in the German DBBL, appearing in five contests during the 2021-22 campaign. Averaged 9.8 points and 5.5 assists per game on the German U-20 team at the European Championships
