Vegas trips are still relatively affordable if you can get the flights and hotel a ways ahead of time and can avoid staying over a weekend. Everything goes up otherwise.

We went to Frontier Airlines and got their basic cheapo flights for $154 each roundtrip. Fly in Friday night and fly out Sunday afternoon. Price immediately went up after that however for a friend so buy 'em ASAP. I bought mine yesterday.

Price immediately went up after that however for a friend so buy 'em ASAP. I bought mine yesterday. I think they're already up to over $400 each round-trip. This morning, before the announcement was made, they were going up $20 every few minutes. We did ours shortly before the official announcement, and they were already $209 each, even without a seat assignment. Adding the cheapest possible seat assignments, with no carry-on, put it up to about $270 per person. We hesitated a bit but now I'm glad we got that rate!

How about hotels? The OSU site mentions the Vdara Resort and Spa which is quite a ways from the stadium. The Luxor and Excalibur which are pretty close are both $300+ a night. Mandaly Bay showed no availability.
Figure tickets for 2, room and airfare is going to run a couple grand at least !!!

Not sure if it's still available, but my buddy booked circus circus couple a of days ago for a really good rate. I know it's not the best place but the rate was really good. And it's Vegas. Who needs sleep?

I was looking 2 days ago at expedia for room and flight from PDX. Spirit wasn't an add on the day I planned on flying, Alaska was an extra 40 bucks per person add on on the flight I was looking at. An hour ago Spirit was about a 35 buck add on, Alaska was over 200 bucks per person add on.
I'm assuming the moment the bowl game was announced PDX to Vegas flight inquiries probably had a surge and rates jumped. At least that's what I'm going with to justify our trip now.
We wound up going a bit further up the strip than we had planned to get in a cheaper place for 4 nights without being on the South end where we've stayed before. Resorts World. At least it's brand spanking new. Seriously considered downtown for this trip.

We moved to Vegas two years ago from Troutdale and cannot pass up a chance to see the Beavers in a bowl game. FIRST TIME EVER!! Tickets start at $50, so they're not priced crazy. Be aware, parking is very expensive at the stadium.
Those of you that will be here a few days, plan a trip to Boulder City, it is refreshing to be away from the gambling and hustle that is Las Vegas.
There's a brew pub a block off the strip called Gordon Biersch, food and brews are decent.

Last time I was there a few years back I had some interesting Tenaya Creek beers, never made it to the brewery though.

I see lots of rooms avail at MGM Signiture. Might try Palms and Palms Place too
