USC, now TCU.
Despite all the claims TCU will not drop out, I can't imaging the committee isn't doing their best to justify moving Alabama in.
I hope it doesn't happen. but I wouldn't be surprised at all.

I hope it doesn't happen. but I wouldn't be surprised at all. Alabama's best wins are against Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Texas, who have a combined 14 losses. Alabama's not getting in. |

And they should stay at #3. No way an Ohio State team that didn't even play for a championship, and lost a home game by 22 points, should jump them. I think the Big 12 borrowed some of our refs to spot the ball in the OT. That was terrible and they had the world's largest video screen to prove it. Then TCU's OC went brain-dead. How do you not sneak at least once? |

Not as bad as the third down play in the Civil War, though. And the announcers were 100 percent right about that play call on fourth down. Not only do you not use your QB to just try to jam it in there, but you run a slow developing run play with a deep handoff. Doesn't make much sense at all. Maybe dropping TCU to No. 4 is the most they possibly will mess with the final four (as long as Michigan and Georgia both win). |

A team getting their only loss while losing in OVERTIME on a neutral field to a top 10 team they already defeated, definitely shouldn't drop them below a two loss Alabama (who also almost lost to A&M). But they'll try to find a way to do it, won't they?

If TCU drops or either Michigan or Georgia lose (or both), it would drop both USC and UW into the Alamo and Holiday bowl mix.
Worst case is that the Beavers drop below the Sun to either the LA Bowl (unlikely) or one of those extra bowls down in Texas.

Why would that kick USC out of NY6? Bama is already in NY6...if someone else other than USC? Who?
Teams 1-11 are currently the NY6 + CFP predictions and Tulane....if Clemson loses, UNC will take their spot, but Clemson will be the next one.
After the teams that are supposed to be in, UW is next in the rankings...so in theory, if USC is out, UW is in.... don't stress!
The only potential mix-up is if LSU comes back, then that screws things up a bit

Totally agree...but that's the only potential scenario that could mess up 2 Pac12 teams in CFP/NY6, there is literally nothing else out there that could not make it happen....and I still personally don't think that would even make it happen with 5 teams in the Top 16, they will reward the conference with 2

But no matter how many data points there are against them, the CFP will do its darndest to get two-loss, beat-nobody Alabama in. Then they'll match them with Austin Peay. |
