I really believe that RB will be starting soon if Jelena doesn’t step up her “alertness”. She seemed slow to react. Raegan is already boxing out for the rebound as the shot is going up. There were a couple of moments where we were not aggressively going after rebounds. The best move of the night was putting AJ on #15. Talia definitely proved her grit and leadership and probably the game off on Saturday. It looked like a high ankle sprain. Either way, she rubbed some dirt on it and pressed on. Totally agree on Beers. She's been playing more like a veteran than a true freshman having just started her first season. Right up there with TVO as far as coming out right away and living up to her billing as a top recruit. To me, Jelena is a very good role player, not a big minute player. She definitely should get her share of PT, I'm not saying she should be on the end of the bench or anything. But watching Beers move around the basket in comparison, there's a noticeable difference.

Interesting that Lily was third highest in minutes played with no turnovers. Scott clearly likes what he sees. Highest was of course TVO, 2nd highest AJ, 4th was Shallexus.

Interesting game to watch-
When Timea plays this will be a very different team. Currently Lex and Lily are trading off on the 4 position and neither one is a rebounding type of person. Boxing out is a concept neither is familiar with. EWU got 18 offensive rebounds, and against top 50 teams that means the Beav's will lose.
Mit and Beers combined for 18 pts, 23 rebounds, and 5 blocks. They did play together for a few minutes, but not that much this game.
Asked Beers about who was taller, her or Timea. She said that the OSU web site is wrong and that she is taller than Timea and is 6'4".
I think this game is the most aggressive game I've seen Talia play. She was not going to allow the team to lose this one. But the cost was her getting beat up.
AJ didn't have a great game, but it was ok.
This teams lack of TO's keeps surprising me.
This teams inability to hit the 3 also keeps surprising me. Going to become a mental block if this keeps up.

The box score has an EWU player, Alexander, as 0-16 from the field. Is that true? I don't think ive ever seen that.

If and when the new players fully adjust to this level of play, it will be great when the team doesn't have to rely so heavily on TVO, who just flat out took over the game when the opponent got too close for comfort. Lily certainly isn't afraid to pop 3s - they're just not dropping yet, but they will. And Beers? Wow. Unstoppable.

Yeah it won't show up in the stats but AJ was able to neutralized Loera. A player like that you just have to contain rather than try and stop because if you overplay her you get cooked.

Two changes made helped OSU do a better job of guarding the P&R, specifically Loera. The first was putting AJ on her. Noelle wasn't quick or disruptive enough. Even if AJ was behind her, putting a hand up allowed her to alter the shot a little bit. Second was that the post player stepped up a little more. Raegan is definitely quick enough to step up on those and still be able to recover.
Right now, it's hard to see Noelle or Martha being able to contribute much against Pac-12 competition.
