I didn’t see large stretches of the game because Illinois was playing at the same time, and I concentrated on that game since I knew I’d be more likely to be able to see replay of Beavs in Pac 12 Network. That said, with what I saw and looking at box score, a few comments.
— Some all around bad shooting by Beavs and not a very good showing on boards considering how FAMU was out rebounded in first two games. But the D was good enough to give us a 17 point win. — Pope and Akanno are a good backcourt. Both are athletic and willing to get their noses dirty on D — a combined 5 steals. — Taylor was pressing and needs to let game come to him. — Like that WT got his bench some playing time. Good news is Bilodeau and Rataj showed some good things — Stevens and Krass, not so much. More I see of Rataj, more I like.
Based on partial viewing of game and the box score, I’d give the Beavers a C+ for the game. Lot that needs to be cleaned up, but saw enough to feel like foundation is being built. And always nice for a work in progress to sit at 2-0

Fewest points allowed since Oregon State beat Northwest (Washington) 114-42 on November 27, 2020.
Fewest points allowed to a Division 1 team since Oregon State beat Grambling 71-43 on December 15, 2014.
Good start. Keep it up, y'all. Oregon State has a game to get the offense right before the difficulty level gets turned up a notch or two.

Speaking of Grambling, they actually just upset Colorado. And from that same conference (SWAC) as the team we just played (FAMU), Ark-Pine Bluff barely lost to #14 TCU on the road of course 73-72 and lost by single digits at Oklahoma last night.

And now Alcorn St just upset Wichita State. The rise of the SWAC?

Tulsa did not fall victim to the SWAC wave. They beat Jackson State.

And then Colorado beats 11th ranked Tenn by 10+ points. Have to love early season basketball.
