Have we "ever" had a game with this kind of combined post production?....36 pts, 24 rebounds, and 7 blocked shots!!!....(Wilky---?). And to think this was from a Fr. and a Soph.!! Otherwise also great overall games from AJ and Talia....AJ is still playing fast which is good but so much more under control this year...and how about that defense from Talia---credited with 4 steals but she also tipped at least 3 other passes leading to TO's by Seattle---she is so smart at anticipating her opponents passing lanes! When Bendu joins her in the backcourt we might just have the best defensive backcourt in the Pac-12. I don't know what to think about Shalexxus: this game---4 pts, 1 reb, 0 assists in 17 min....last game---0 pts, 4 reb, 3 assists in 19 min....I was expecting/hoping for more out of her---maybe she is not fully recovered from her injury?

A large portion of the dynamic 4th quarter saw 4 freshmen + AJ leading the charge - Martha, Adley, Reagan, Lily. This combo led to most of the 29-2 run. Hadn’t seen this kind of quickness and ball pressure from a SR team in years. Once Lily gets her 3 pt. stroke back, they could be really dangerous.

Let's not get too excited about that fourth quarter. Seattle went deep into their bench through most of it. Whipping the second-string of a below-average WAC team may not be relevant to our future success in the Pac.
But it was fun to watch.

Martha is going to be a great addition. She can't miss in warm-ups. Once she gets use to shooting in games look out.

I watched bits of each quarter. We had a huge size advantage. They were pretty quick though. Good to see the ladies turn it on and pull away.
Beers is gonna be a handful on both ends. Marotte had a nice game. I thought I saw a glimpse of Adlee being aggressive, and hard nosed.....I like it! This should be a physical team.

I can totally understand not putting a tremendous amount of stock in it, but why not get very excited about freshmen and sophomore playing excellently? Life's short. I prefer to enjoy it whenever possible.

For those who didn't attend the game and care about such things, Seattle deliberately left the floor just prior to the national anthem and then returned immediately after. Very poor taste on their part. Only time this year, but I'll be rooting for the Ducks to clobber them on Saturday.

I'd be curious to learn why Seattle U did this...... Maybe some players insist on taking a knee - and the coach just wanted to avoid the hassle that brings.... If any Seattle U fans read this board maybe you can ring in.
I'm kinda outa the loop on this. Not too long ago having the team scoot out before the National Anthem was common practice - virtually every NCAA Men's basketball team did it for years.....But it seems less common recently....
At any rate, if someone knows more about this I am interested in learning what you know..... GO BEAVS!!

Oh, I'm excited alright. Just not about the 4th quarter.
I'm excited to watch Jelena run half-way across the floor to go after a loose rebound. It appears she's been hanging out with Noelle and some of that scrappiness has rubbed off on her. And for all that effort over all those minutes, she never looked winded. I hadn't dared to hope that Jelena could be a 30-minute-per-game player, but she had close to that last night and looked strong the whole time.
And, like everyone else, I'm excited to see a team with multiple scoring threats at each level - Raegan and Jelena inside, AJ (in particular) in the mid-range, and TVO, Lily, Adlee, et al from the distance. And we have multiple players who can attack the basket on drives. I'm not sure we've had a team with more offensive versatility - at least, they have that potential.
And the D was pretty good, too, once they locked in. There was really two games here. There was a 15 minute game that ended with a 32-32 tie, and a 25 minute game that was 57-21.

If any Seattle U fans read this board maybe you can ring in. Are there any SU fans? They are a complete afterthought here in Seattle--it's pro sports and UW. I was pretty shocked when they moved back to D1. They weren't even particularly strong in the GNAC (D2) conference. Seattle Pacific and Western Washington had stronger traditions than SU.

Outside of the game per se-
Beers has taken over from Aquino as the head cheerleader.
Hansford is quit the clown and helps keep the team on the happy side.
Bendu isn't playing but she's not shy about giving advice on playing defense!
Lex is having a slow start, but I can see improvement from 1st to 2nd game. Now if she can just get her range on shots from the three.

Well, I wouldn't make too much out of what happened in this game other than the Beavers were able to start clicking in the second half and wound up winning big, which is what they were supposed to do if they are to be a competitive team in the Pac-12. I think the biggest plus for the Beavers is that they were able to do so without Gardiner and Yeaney. That definitely bodes well. My take on the national anthem protest stuff is that either the teams across the country continue to play it before games and both teams are required to be on the sidelines, or we all agree to stop playing it altogether.

Speaking of the National Anthem, Deven is not kneeling this year. And.....alcohol is now for sale at Gill. They do a "last call" in the third quarter. That should help make Michael Price and Missy Barlow feel more welcome!

As someone pointed out ,it's not up to the players when they will return, but at least Bendu is optimistic:
