Unfortunately, I don’t think this means anything. I think it was obvious both schools would send applications, but it still seems almost impossible for either to be accepted right now.

That would be the best aggressive move we could do to stay in a relevant conference. It doesn’t make much sense for the BIG 12 though

Even if this effort fails, it’s better than doing nothing.

Even if this effort fails, it’s better than doing nothing. Yup, it’s the two weakest schools Pushing the direction. It will be very telling if the other schools work to stop us.

Eww. That would suck. I'd rather see the Pac stay viable in a new configuration.

Well that brings it down to the Pac-6. now that those looking to go to the big 10 any day are:
1. Notre Dame 2. Oregon 3. Stanford 4. UNC
It would be so nice to see the Zona schools, Washington and Utah left out if Stanford, Oregon, Oregon State and WSU find homes first. Washington the lone dawg in the pac. LOLOLO!

So if we end up in Mountain West we take like a $20 million hit on a $75 million budget. That seems like the toughest part.
A football schedule that looks like:
Out of Conference: Oregon Washington Stanford Cal Conference: SDSU Boise State Fresno State Air Force Colorado State Nevada San Jose State
Does not seem like that big of a change - especially if we have a winning record and compete for a championship. We basically swap out four or five difficult Pac 12 opponents for winnable games that use to be our out of conference slate.
The money is going to be the biggest challenge. We definitely have our facilities in order for this level of competition.

If OSU won't face USC and UCLA for jumping to the B1G, then why should the Beavers schedule Washington and o should they also join the B1G? I say OSU does not schedule anyone who was a former Pac-12 team in the B1G.

To that, I would say only schedule non-west coast B1G teams.

Truthfully, I was the Big 12, I would be looking to bring in the four interior schools from the Pac 10, and then maybe oregon and Washington.
