I agree with Steven that if we expand, I would like to see it regionally. I would pick up Boise St. San Diego St., Utah St, Nevada, UNLV and Colorado St. to give us 16 teams and a West Coast presence. It may not be a super conference, but all of those schools have had some success in various sports. You would just have to get the Presidents to accept a couple of those schools that are not exactly known for their academic prowess. I don't want to go that big, but if we do I take Wyoming over Nevada or Utah State. More money, better facilities, built-in rivalry with CSU and Colorado. think bigger. Think big 12 and go make overtures to them NOW in partnership with another school.

There’s an issue with that. The Big 12 has already agreed to allow Cincinnati and UCF into their conference.

I'd start the PO'd Conference and take every team in current Power 5 conferences that is PO'd at the pampered few who seek to horde money.
Of course it might end up at 25-30 or more teams in the conference at that point.

I like what Jackson says.
If I were the Pac 12, and the remaining ten teams stay, I would invite (somewhat sheepishly) BYU and San Diego State. 12 teams. If we had to go to 16, I would try to poach other members of the Big 12 and try to get a foothold in Texas.
We're clearly at the point where no one (except a lot fans!) gives a ____ about regions anymore.

He does touch on something I was thinking about yesterday. Some people have expressed the exit of the LA schools as a death knell to recruiting. I think there's a ton of kids that probably want to play within a day's drive or couple hours flight of home for their family (even if in reality not all that many families will follow their kids to sll or most road games). A big portion of those that don't care about that are already going to other conferences. Those local kids who normally would pick UCLA or USC are now going to have to make that long family roadtrip choice.
If the rest of the conference can hold tpgether and add a couple choice targets to join, it might not make a huge difference in the end as far as recruiting goes. The whole TV thing could be a huge hit though.

Oregon and Washington are gone. They are asking to go now...I would not plan on them to stick around. The money and exposure will be too much to bypass, no matter what happens.

JUST MAKE IT HAPPEN! no more debate. Going all in to preserve the Pac 12 is foolish at this point!

Oregon and Washington are part of the bigger picture that is Tier 1 college football. The Pac 10 is not. Maybe Utah. Maybe ASU. I doubt Stanford and Cal even though there is value to the Bay Area. So whatever the Pac 12 puts together...they better not plan on Oregon and Washington being part of it long term.

I think i'd like to snag two teams from the Big 12. Okla St & Texas Tech, Okla st & TCU, Kansas/Okla st, or just two Texas teams. (Currently the Big 12 has a "midwest/Texas coverage. By joining the PAC 8,10, or 12 they'd have a texas/midwest, SW, & west coast coverage area) Maybe fill that out with Boise St & San Diego St. That would give us 12-14 teams. If Whoregon and Worshington end up skedaddling for the money we'd still have 10-12 teams. What’s the advantage to those schools though? They have Houston, Cincinnati, UCF and BYU joining in 2023. They will arguably be just a better product staying out and certainly less distance to cover if they don’t half to haul their asses to Washington and Oregon. Big 12 is back to 12 in 2023 and there’s plenty of rumour that they are looking to go to 16 as protection against poaching.
