Everyone is talking about Oregon, Stanford, the Zonas and Utah and where they will likely try to pursue.
Saw this on a tweet.
4 of the 10 remaining Pac-12 schools have yet to issue statements regarding the departures of UCLA and USC.
Arizona State Oregon Stanford Washington State
What if these schools are not really "all in" with the pac 12 and are really working on their own plan B. I know it sounds wild but what if WSU announces their plan B and says the hell with it. It would be kind of funny if they did some wild move and told the P-12 to "f" it. Now I know the counter argument is they would never do that with even current P-12 money and they will wait to see if it holds together but you have to think at this point anything unexpected can happen. Especially if they feel the chances of the p-12 surviving are dead. Maybe it gives them an excuse to do something they really wanted to do in the first place like leave the p-12 and money was the only thing keeping them in.
So what does not issuing any official statements really mean? Some think it means nothing others think they are working a plan B and not say the blah, blah we are committed to the p-12 routine. I am just saying at this point nothing would surprise me.

Statements don’t mean anything right now.

Washington State has the least bargaining power of anyone. They're also in a great deal of athletic department debt that they were counting on a new PAC-12 TV deal to help with - their Martin Stadium remodel was financed to a much higher degree than the Reser project.

Didnt we take out a huge loan to fund sports during COVID?

I just read a pretty convincing article on the case for Wazzu should be in the Big 10. There is some merit.

The B1G invites North Dakota State before Washington State.

then let’s make our own move! Approach the Big 12 now in alliance with the AZ schools and WSU. Fock hole and UW. We don’t need them and could care less what they go do. Let’s get bold and get going!

The B1G invites North Dakota State before Washington State. may have hood theory but reality OSU different. Forget the B1G. Big 12 is our only credible play or we settle for the MWC.

I'm hoping Barnes is a bold move guy and not a wait and see guy. I fear he's the latter.

I'm hoping Barnes is a bold move guy and not a wait and see guy. I fear he's the latter. That's the whole point is that Barnes rarely has a plan B. I have a feeling in all of this there will be lots of surprises when all is said and done. Everyone is looking to see what the other guy is doing but for once what if someone becomes innovative?

Maybe keep the Pac 12 for everything but football. USC and UCLA might share some of their B1G money if they did not have to ship women's softball and every other dead weight sport across the country.

Nah, that'd be doing a huge favor to the LA schools, and the rest of us should not be doing that in any capacity at this point.

I'd rather not see the Pac 10 accommodate the LA schools as they jump ship. Instead, the Pac 10 should be investigating whether it could exclude the LA schools from as many sporting events as possible, effective immediately.

That’s silly, just charge a premium rate for quality services.
